Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZUdy0Cu3f_o My Review: Looking through my movies and wanting something based in space to watch I decided to put on Supernova which is a film in which I couldn't remember at all. Not remembering it made me feel like this was a new movie to me and I did keep me watching all of the way through easily. I like that this film showed how the device in which they discover is able to make people stronger and able to make them younger as well. By also having this device able to reattach body parts it makes the audience worried about how they will get ...

Film: Venom Year: 2018 Genre: Action, Sci-Fi, Thriller Directed By: Ruben Fleischer Starring: Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed About:  A failed reporter is bonded to an alien entity, one of many symbiotes who have invaded Earth. But the being takes a liking to Earth and decides to protect it. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u9Mv98Gr5pY My Review: Having wanted to see Venom in the cinema however not having got around to it and having owned the movie since it was released physically however not feeling like watching this for a while. This movie grabbed my attention again and I couldn't wait to watch it and cast my own views on a movie which I heard no negative feedback upon. Personally, I really enjoyed how the film showed how after the Venom was discovered how scientists experimented on it to see how it took over bodies for hosts and why they did this. Not only this but even taking it into animals before human testing, this was something in which ...

Film: John Wick: Chapter 3- Parabellum Year: 2019 Genre: Action, Crime, Thriller Directed By: Chad Stahelski Starring: Keanu Reeves, Halle Berry, Ian McShane About:  Super-assassin John Wick is on the run after killing a member of the international assassin's guild, and with a $14 million price tag on his head - he is the target of hit men and women everywhere. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pU8-7BX9uxs My Review: Being a fan of John Wick and realising that a third movie was on it's way I was excited to give this a watch at the first opportunity I had and with all of the action within it, it did not disappoint. I loved that from the very beginning of this movie till the very end scene was full of action and killing which is how people know John Wick. I thought by doing this it kept really true for the fans of the franchise and with everyone against John Wick showed how great an assassin he really is. Having from the very beginning how people who helped...

John Wick (film review)

Film: John Wick  Year: 2014 Genre: Action, Crime, Thriller Directed By: Chad Stahelski, David Leitch Starring: Keanu Reeves, Michael Nyqvist, Alfie Allen  About:  An ex-hit-man comes out of retirement to track down the gangsters that killed his dog and took everything from him. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RllJtOw0USI My Review: Noticing that John Wick was on TV and that I hadn't seen it in a while I decided to give it a watch, this is a film in which I have always enjoyed and being a fan of Keanu Reeves couldn't wait to see again.  This is a film in which I love the action within it and by showing the reasons why he is going after the gangsters. Showing that John is already going through grief when they make it worse and wants revenge by leaving him with nothing from his wife and nothing to love by killing the dog in which his wife gave him as a last present from her. Personally, I really like how much the audience is abl...

Freeman Starring: Mila Kunis, William Shatner, Geraint Wyn Davies About:  A girl named Rachael Newman has developed a taste for murder and will stand at nothing to become a college professor's assistant. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8uODp59M_QY My Review: Having had this in my To Watch Pile for a while I thought it would be a perfect time to give this a watch for the first time. Being a fan of the first movie I wasn't sure what to expect with this movie and although this was different from what I would have expected I did think think that this was a good watch. Showing at the beginning of the movie how she took down Bateman and never got caught showed how she became a killer and really helped to show the character right from the beginning. By also having her motivation to join the FBI so she could take down other serial killers was something else in w...

Glass (film review) *contains spoilers*

Film: Glass Year: 2019 Genre: Drama, Sci-fi, Thriller Directed By: M. Night Shyamalan Starring: James McAvoy, Bruce Willis, Samuel L. Jackson About:  Security guard David Dunn uses his supernatural abilities to track Kevin Wendell Crumb, a disturbed man who has twenty-four personalities Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95ghQs5AmNk&t=11s My Review: Having seen the other two movies in the trilogy which consists of Unbreakable and Split, I could not resist but to see Glass the first chance I got and I was not disappointed! This movie carries on from the ending of Split perfectly in which the beast is still around and killing people but this time with the difference of David trying to stop him. While trying however they end up in a psych ward and I liked that they done this as it kept the movie more to the real world in which they were hoping for. Having it so that someone would try to help them get better and stop delusions of being a super hero when t...

Escape Room (film review) *contains spoilers*

Film: Escape Room Year: 2017 Genre: Horror, Thriller Directed By: Will Wernick Starring: Evan Williams, Annabelle Stephenson, Elisabeth Hower About:  Four best friends test their intelligence when an escape room they participate in takes a dark and twisted turn. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AI2MbS-e_us My Review: Wanting something different to watch I thought I would check out Escape Room which is available to watch on Netflix. This movie was good in that it did provide mystery and I did enjoy how the puzzles within the Escape Room were laid out and that every room had something in which they had to figure out and it was not just one room. I also enjoyed seeing how the people actually interacted with each other and why they seemed so hostile with certain characters. By also starting the movie with seeing someone having to choose a lock it came across very much like the movie "Saw" which does feel very much the same all the way through the movie. Wit...

Cam (film review) *contains spoilers*

Film: Cam Year: 2018 Genre: Horror, Mystery, Thriller Directed By: Daniel Goldhaber Starring: Madeline Brewer, Patch Darragh, Melora Walters About:  Alice, an ambitious camgirl, wakes up one day to discover she's been replaced on her show with an exact replica of herself. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pN8xZ5WDonk My Review:  Wanting something different to watch I thought I would go for the movie Cam which is available to watch on Netflix and although it kept my attention this film did rather disappoint me. With the film being about a camgirl I was rather intrigued about how this would end up as a horror and was looking forward to the development of the movie and did keep my interest in that she gets taken over by someone who looks like her even though not herself. I also liked that through this the watcher was able to see how Lola was reacting to someone impersonating her and the trouble in which she was going through by having the tech support no...

Film: The Darkness Year: 2016 Genre: Horror, Thriller Directed By: Greg McLean Starring: Kevin Bacon, Radha Mitchell, David Mazouz About:  A family unknowingly awakens an ancient supernatural entity on a Grand Canyon vacation, and must fight for survival when it follows them home. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDhoqY1grJY My Review: Wanting a horror movie to watch, my mum decided to choose the film The Darkness. Knowing nothing about the film prior to seeing it and having not seen it before I was rather excited to see this. The Darkness is about a family who goes to the Grand Canyon and when their son comes across some stones decides to take them home with him. However the stones end up having a much darker purpose than they intended and could end up killing or breaking the family apart. I thought that this film was brilliant and I really enjoyed how the movie showed right away how the son found the stones in which ends up making all of the problems...

Film: The Titan Year: 2018 Genre: Sci-Fi, Thriller Directed By: Lennart Ruff Starring: Sam Worthington, Taylor Schilling, Tom Wilkinson About:  A military family takes part in a ground-breaking experiment of genetic evolution and space exploration. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ctM8zpe3BHo My Review: Seeing The Titan on Netflix I thought that I would check it out as it was a sci-fi/thriller and new to 2018. This film was how I expected it to be and I was rather glad to have watched it. The Titan is about a group of people who go through experiments in order to lower their oxygen levels and get them ready to go to the planet Titan in order to see if there is a chance that the human race could live outside of Earth. However the experiment is not what it seems. I thought that this film was rather interesting and showed how to enhance human evolution in order to better the human race but also showed the side effects and how dangerous that it can be. By ...

Film: I Kill Giants Year: 2017 Genre: Drama, Fantasy, Thriller Directed By: Anders Walter Starring: Madison Wolfe, Zoe Saldana, Imogen Poots About:  Barbara Thorson struggles through life by escaping into a fantasy life of magic and monsters. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZ0QKOR5Kgc My Review: Letting my mum choose the film in which we watch she decided to have a look through Netflix and came across I Kill Giants and thought that this would be good for us to watch. The film is about a girl called Barbara who is trying to save her town from giants in which cause all the pain and death within the town and how she battles them with the help of a new girl who has just come to the town. I thought that this film had brilliant symbolism within this with having the giants really as Barbara's demons and how she has to face them, with the bag also holding the light showing the little hope in which she had left it highlighted how little Barbara really was fee...

Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dw3F9lfA21Y My Review: Having never seen this movie and having owned it for a couple of months I decided to give it a watch and I am so glad I did as this film was better than I expected it to be. Baby Driver is about a man called Baby who is working for a crime lord to pay him back for something in the past however when all of the money is paid up and he thinks that he is finally free he gets pulled into one last job that he does not want to do. I thought that this film was really good in showing why he had his headphones in all of the time and how he was still able to know what everyone was saying and his passion for music. I thought by having him l...

As the investigation proceeds, evidence points to one suspect: John Kramer, the man known as Jigsaw, who has been dead for over 10 years Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fcb68kAOvt4 My Review: Having not seen the newest Saw movie I was surprised to see that it was on Netflix, however this just made me have to see it especially on the lead up to Halloween. I am so glad that I was not disappointed with this movie as I was worried with the amount of Saw movies that this one would be the same and get boring rather quickly. I thought that this film was rather clever and kept Jigsaw to the same formula in which the audience is used to with the Saw franchise. However, when the murders and bodies start happening ten y...

The Sixth Sense is about a little boy named Cole who can communicate with the dead and starts to get help off of a child psychologist who is going through a rough time at home. With Cole wanting help on no longer being afraid of the ghosts in which he is seeing will the psychologist Malcolm be able to help Cole and get everything back on track with his wife? I find that this film has incredible ac...

However, when one of the students gets obsessed with him she will do anything to be with him including secluding him from everyone else. I liked the foreshadowing at the beginning of the movie which matched up to the ending very well and shows how throughout the movie that this was coming up. I also liked how the film showed how...

Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QnCn2VTzY90 My Review: Having not seen the film since I was in high school due to studying the book I decided to give this a watch and found that I still loved the film. Lord of the Flies is about a group of boys who when they end up on a stranded island try and obey the rules however as time goes on the boys start to become more savage. Will the boys be able to get rescued before it goes too far however? I think that this film is great at showing a lot of symbolism and foreshadowing throughout the film and showing how without rules in which to follow the human impulses are able to get through which are more violent. Showing the two camps the watcher is able to see how some people are able to stay hu...

However, felt that this film did not meet my expectations at all. The film is about two men who are friends and make a machine which seems a little like Schrodinger's cat and will the person survive within the box until it is opened? However, as it leads to time travel the men's relationship becomes strained. I thought that this film had a brilliant premise and wondered what would happen within the experiment. As it was ...

The film is about three people who decide to rob a man who was known as being rich however he is blind. Thinking that he would be an easy target. However, the man is ex-army and is doing his own terrible deeds and locks the people in his house and tries to kill them. I loved that this horror had the villain as a blind guy which made this very different from other home invasion movies. Also with the man's home who they broke into being from the army and traps them in and takes their lives into their hands it was a go...
