Goosebumps: The Haunted Mask - R.L. Stine (book review)

The Haunted Mask by R.L. Stine is the forth book in the Goosebumps series. This book will not only leave you scared but also make you laugh and not want to put the book down! Not only that but the way the book ends will make you come back begging for more! This book is about a girl who gets scared very easily and as a result people take advantage of this and make her a laughing stock including her friends, however she gets tired of this and decides to take matters into her own hands and gets the scariest mask she can find. However, when the mask starts to take over what will happen to her and will she ever get back to normal? Personally The Haunted Mask is one of my favourite Goosebumps books and even though I am now an adult leaves me scared and makes me laugh. I think this is a great thing for a children's book as it shows that R.L. Stine has a talent for writing horror books for children. I feel that the main character in this book is also very relatable with her friends...

A Known Evil - Aidan Conway (book review)

A Known Evil by Aidan Conway is the first book in his Detective Michael Rossi series of books. Having never heard of Aidan Conway before and being intrigued by the line at the top of the novel "A seriel killer stalks the streets of Rome..." this was something I had to give a read. This novel is about Detective Michael Rossi who after being put onto the case of a seriel killer who is killing their victims by using a hammer, however when the case gets too close to home he gets taken off of the case however this doesn't stop hi from working on it and coming closer to understanding the killer. The first part of this book  is when you find out about Michael Rossi as well as that the killer is killing woman who have children! This making the story interesting right away as this seems to be the only thing that the victims of the "Carpenter" have in common. Also as the case gets closer to home with his girlfriend being a victim of the "Carpenter" Rossi g...

Cold Blood - Andy McNab (book review)

Cold Blood by Andy McNab is the eighteenth book in the Nick Stone series. As this was the first novel by Andy McNab I have read and therefore the first in the Nick Stone series, I was glad that this book you were able to read as a stand alone and didn't need the others prior to knowing what was happening in this novel. Cold Blood is about a group of amputees who were part of the army making their way to the North Pole. Throughout this book you see how they get the money for the trip to the pole and the troubles that comes along with this, going forward you also see how dangerous being on the ice are because of different countries wanting the oil that comes from the North Pole.  As things get more dangerous for the group other factors come into play which makes this book get more interesting and keeps the reading wanting more. This is a good fiction book which chapters are really small so it's easy for reading on the go and for those who aren't fast readers and lose i...
