Film:  Fred Claus Year:  2007 Genre:  Comedy, Family, Fantasy Directed By:  David Dobkin Starring:  Vince Vaughn, Paul Giamatti, Elizabeth Banks About:  Fred Claus, Santa's bitter older brother, is forced to move to the North Pole to help Santa and the elves prepare for Christmas in exchange for cash. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VzXjtxZaGS8 My Review: Over the Christmas period I decided to watch some films that I hadn't previously seen before and one of those being  Fred Claus  I thought that this was different to other Christmas movies as it focus' on Santa's brother rather than on Santa himself but also on how to keep Christmas alive and not have it closed down. By having Vince Vaughn as the main character in this I had good expectations for this movie as I generally enjoy everything in which I have seen him in. I thought that  Fred Claus  was good in how it showed how Nicholas became a saint and how h...

From my excitement I was scared that maybe I had hyped it up a little too much for myself and I wasn't going to enjoy it as much as I thought but I am so glad I was wrong. I loved this movie and it was different from other films I had seen and made me captivated throughout and make me feel like this is a film in which everyo...

Krampus (film review) *contains spoilers*

Film: Krampus Year: 2015  Genre: Comedy, Fantasy, Horror Directed By: Michael Dougherty Starring: Adam Scott, Toni Collette, David Koechner About:  A boy who has a bad Christmas ends up accidentally summoning a festive demon to his family home. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6cVyoMH4QE My Review: Thinking it would be a good idea to watch a horror/comedy film I couldn't resist but put on Krampus  which did make me laugh numerous times through it. I do like that this film acknowledges Krampus as not many movies do even though he is a part of Christmas. I also liked that this film told you how it also happened to the gran when she was a child so could understand how Krampus was taking over Christmas. With the children's wish to make his family disappear Krampus did do as he was asked to do as Santa'a evil brother as known in some ways and shadow in others. This film did make me laugh which is something I did enjoy about this movie with the ginge...

Film: The Christmas Dragon Year: 2014 Genre: Adventure, Drama, Fantasy Directed By: John Lyde Starring: Bailee Michelle Johnson, Paris Warner, David DeVilliers About:  A group of orphans goes on a journey to restore the lost magic and save Christmas. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N50pPqlCcIo My Review: With it being frosty outside at the moment I thought I would go for a Christmas movie that I had not seen before called The Christmas Dragon . This film did surprise me and I am glad that I saw this movie. I found that this movie was different from Christmas movies I usually end up seeing in that this one was an adventure to try and get an orb to Father Christmas in order to save Christmas from ending however without Santa approaching them and without the usual set-up of a Christmas movie. I thought by having the main characters of this film all being children that this helped to make it feel more of a family vibe to it. I also thought that the dragon i...

Christmas With The Coopers (film review)

This was a film in which I feel I personally wouldn't watch again however was one that is different for the Christmas period. I thought this movie was great to show how families try to please each other over the Christmas period and try and pretend everything is really happy and great even if things really are the opposite. By also showing how different family members were going through different situations I thought was a good way of making everyone who was watching able to associate themselves with...

Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YaeDa_Uempk My Review: With less than a week till Christmas and hearing a lot of good things about this movie I thought that I should check out The Christmas Chronicles and I am so glad I did as it is one of the best Christmas movies that I have ever seen. This film was brilliant in showing how Santa worked and how the elves was able to help Santa bring all of the presents all around the world. As well as this by having the mum's Christmas wish from the beginning coming true by bringing the bother and sister together was a great way of bringing this movie together and also giving this fil...

Film: The Holiday Calendar Year: 2018 Genre: Drama, Romance Directed By: Bradley Walsh Starring: Kat Graham, Quincy Brown, Ethan Peck About:  A struggling but talented photographer inherits an antique holiday advent calendar, the contents of which seem to predict the future. Will this magical calendar lead her to love this holiday season? Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=km7gv28_uX0 My Review: Wanting to get in the Christmas spirit my mum decided to put on The Holiday Calendar which is currently available to watch on Netflix. This film did end up surprising us both with how much we ended up enjoying it and it did bring me some holiday cheer. I thought that this film was good in that it showed how the main character Abby wasn't really happy with how her life was and felt like the photography in which she was doing wasn't the kind in which she wanted to do but needed the job so kept at it. Not only this but by having her grandfather notice she needed somet...
