Nineteen Eighty-Four - George Orwell (book review)

Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell is the first book by this author I have ever read and is a book which is about a government that spies on and listens to everything and if you do not think or act how they are wanting will make you disappear from all existence. Broken into three parts which shows a different side of the world that they are living in. Part 1:  Part one of the book is getting the reader understanding of the world in which the protagonist a man called Winston is living in and his normality. This is shown by showing a world where emotions are not allowed to be felt or any thoughts in which "the party" do not feel necessary for the world they are in and if you are found thinking or feeling anything in which they do not feel is acceptable then you will be killed. They also make it impossible to ever think anything bad about them by changing the language to have no words which is against the message of the party themselves as well as having workers whic

Jeepers Creepers 3 (film review)

Film : Jeepers Creepers 3 Year : 2017 Genre : Horror, Mystery, Thriller Starring : Stan Shaw, Gabrielle Haugh, Brandon Smith About : Sheriff Dan Tashtego and a team of creeper hunters enlist the help of officer Davis Tubbs to help stop the monster's eating spree. My Review:  Jeepers Creepers 3 is more of a transition film between the first and second film starting exactly where the first one ended and ending exactly as one of the boys go onto the school bus like in the second movie.  This film is more about Jeepers Creepers himself and showing how he is able to catch the people in which he is tracking down. As well as this you are able to see how a woman has a part of Jeepers Creepers that is able to look into his history and figure out the way of possibly destroying him. This did annoy me however as during this you see that two of the characters are able to see into his past but does not show the audience anything at all or really tell you anything about the past t

The Greatest Showman (Film Review)

Film: The Greatest Showman Year: 2017 Genre: Biography, Musical, Drama Cast: Hugh Jackman, Michelle Williams, Zac Efron About:  Celebrates the birth of show business, and tells of a visionary who rose from nothing to create a spectacle that became a worldwide sensation. My Review:  As someone who only really likes musicals that are more of a horror nature this film really peaked my interest as it was to do with show business. With a cast I had grew up watching and becoming a fan of I had to see if this film was as good as I thought it would be and I was not disappointed at all. This film has an original soundtrack that not only inspired me in my real life but also that made me feel exactly what the characters were feeling. This film follows Hugh Jackman as P.T. Barnum who was the first person to ever create a circus and do a style of entertainment that was not of the norm. As someone who was not aware of him and did not know his story this really inspired me as he came from n

Goosebumps: Attack of the Graveyard Ghouls - R.L. Stine (book review)

Goosebumps: Attack of the Graveyard Ghouls is the eleventh book in the Goosebumps series and one that will leave you constantly wondering what happens next. With small chapters throughout the book and ones that always end on a cliffhanger you are constantly engaged in the novel and don't want to put the book down. This book is about a little boy who on a school trip by accident knocks over the grave of two brothers who are desperate to have a body and cause havoc in their wake. As this happens a little boy named Spencer must go on an adventure and try and get his body back while also having the difficulty of only being able to travel by jumping into someone else's body. As a goosebumps fan this was an amazing read that is very easy and one that made me excited to read more of the Goosebumps series. I would highly recommend this to children and adults alike who would like a good read and one that you wont want to put down while also being a horror.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask - Akira Himekawa (book review)

Majora's Mask is the second graphic novel from the Legend of Zelda series by Akira Himekawa. As a Zelda fan myself and liking the game that this is based off of I found this book really enjoyable. It changes parts of the game in order to get it faster paced for the book however this doesn't fault the book at all. Not only this but the graphics within this book are really good and made me love the book even more while also making me have the music from the game in my head. The book also has a bonus story at the end which is about the making of the mask and how the mask came into being, I found this really fitting and something that is not only original but something that needed to be added to the book. As in the games it doesn't tell you how the mask was made or the story behind it this bonus story seemed like a more fulfilling piece of the story and tied up any loose ends such as how the mask came to be and why it is cursed. As a Zelda fan I can't fault this book

Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle (film review)

Film: Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle Year: 2017 Genre: Action, Adventure, Comedy Cast: Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, Kevin Hart, Jack Black About:  Four teenagers are sucked into a magical video game, and the only way they can escape is to work together to finish the game. My Review: As someone who grew up watching the Jumanji film with Robin Williams I was worried about the new film and if this would ruin the film that I grew up loving. I was gladly proven wrong! This film is based after Jumanji and is through a video game which is more with the times rather than board games, not only this but it is based around two people who are more nerds/geeks (one male and one female) and two of the popular group (one male and one female). As you see them coming to terms with their new characters and making it so that the popular ones are the more weak characters who aren't as popular and vice versa it made the film something for everyone. The casting for this film was amazing and hav

Heartthrob (Film Review)

Film: Heartthrob Year: 2017 Genre: Thriller Starring: Peter Facinelli, Keir Gilchrist, Ione Skye, Aubrey Peeples, Jimmy Bennet Bio: A teen romance forms into something much darker. Review This film is about a boy who falls in love with a girl he went to high school with and after starting to get jealous starts to kill those who she has slept with and who she is friends with which pushes him away from her. As the film develops you see that love can not only be a positive to your life and those around you but it can also effect people in a very negative way and be very destructive. I found this film was rather slow at times however I did also like this film and the way it was portrayed. I rate this film a 3/5

The Fever Code- James Dashner (Book review)

The Fever Code is the fifth book in the successful series The Maze Runner by James Dashner. This book is a prequel to the The Maze Runner itself based on Thomas' time before going inside of the Maze and how the maze trial started to be made. Not only this however but it shows how Eva Paige becomes from a doctor who is helping Thomas to becoming Chancellor who is in charge of the trials themselves. I personally really liked that this book showed more into Thomas' life before the Maze Trials and how his relationship was with those who went into the Maze before himself as well as those who worked for WICKED. It also gave more insight into Eva Paige and how she became the villain of the Maze Runner series of books. This is a book that is good as a stand alone book as well as part of The Maze Runner series and I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a dystopian novel.
