Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uIxnTi4GmCo My Review: Having never seen this movie before and never having heard anything about it I was so happy to go into this movie completely blind. This is a movie which actually made me cry and I was so happy that it did as it showed just how good this movie was. This film starts with showing how the main character is hunting then gets thrown off of a cliff making the audience unsure if he lives or not. Showing afterwards a week before that to give the film more context I thought was a really nice touch and left me wanting to know more about the tribe

Snowpiercer (film review) *contains spoilers*

Film: Snowpierer Year: 2013 Genre: Action, Drama, Sci-fi Directed By: Bong Joon-Ho Starring: Chris Evans, Jamie Bell, Tilda Swinton About:  In a future where a failed climate-change experiment has killed all life except for the lucky few who boarded the Snowpiercer, a train that travels around the globe, a new class system emerges Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6UmqNuMdY4 My Review: Being a movie I discovered years ago and completely fell in love with to the point it is one of my favourite movies of all time, I was excited to see that they had finally put this on Netflix so that others could discover it and love it as much as myself. As a result I thought I would re-watch Snowpiercer and give it a review which is fun for me as it is a film in which I really enjoy and feel is very underrated. I love how this film begins by showing you how the passengers who are on the train that goes around the world are the only survivors of the human race. By doing this it sh

Wreck-It Ralph (film review)

Film: Wreck-It Ralph Year: 2012 Genre: Animation, Adventure, Comedy Directed By: Rich Moore Starring: John C. Reilly, Jack McBrayer, Jane Lynch About:  A video game villain wants to be a hero and sets out to fulfill his dream, but his quest brings havoc to the whole arcade where he lives. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=87E6N7ToCxs My Review: Being one of my favourite Disney movies and having not seen the second movie yet I thought it would be a good idea to watch the first one and get reacquainted with the characters and the story in which I enjoy so much. This is a film in which I always look forward to watching and that I like the concept of as well. I love that Wreck-It Ralph shows the movie from a bad guys perspective who just wants to be accepted for who he is but because of his job people don't respect him. Having him want to get a medal to change this and gain the respect of those around him I think is really sad and shows how he does not feel like he

Book: Depravity Author: M. J. Haag Genre: Fantasy, Romance, Retelling Published By: Shattered Glass Publishing LLC Published Year: 2015 My Review: Having got an e-mail about a book tour with Silver Dagger Book Tours about a Beauty and the Beast Retelling, I knew that I had to take part and I was not disappointed at all in doing so. This book really surprised me and I ended up enjoying it a lot more than I expected. Depravity is about a girl called Benella who when trying to help fed her family takes food from the estate just out of town comes across the beast who is willing to help her as long as she cleans his house. However, when things start going badly for Benella's family the Beast wants to keep her in his estate even though she doesn't want to lose her family as a result. I thought that this retelling of the iconic fairy tale was different from ones that I have read in the past and I liked that this showed how she wanted to help her family even though her sis

But the being takes a liking to Earth and decides to protect it. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u9Mv98Gr5pY My Review: Having wanted to see Venom in the cinema however not having got around to it and having owned the movie since it was released physically however not feeling like watching this for a while. This movie grabbed my attention again and I couldn't wait to watch it and cast my own views on a movie which I heard no negative feedback upon. Personally, I really enjoyed how the film showed how after the Venom was discovered how scientists experimented on it to see how it took over bodies for hosts and why they did this. Not only this but even taking it into animals before human testing, this was something in which I lik

Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pU8-7BX9uxs My Review: Being a fan of John Wick and realising that a third movie was on it's way I was excited to give this a watch at the first opportunity I had and with all of the action within it, it did not disappoint. I loved that from the very beginning of this movie till the very end scene was full of action and killing which is how people know John Wick. I thought by doing this it kept really true for the fans of the franchise and with everyone against John Wick showed how great an assassin he really is. Having from the very beginning how people who helped

Film: Pup Star Year: 2016 Genre: Comedy, Family Directed By: Robert Vince Starring: Carla Jimenez, Mackenzie Moss, Susie Wall About:  A Yorkshire Terrier, competing in a televised singing competition, is separated from her owner by an opportunist dog pound worker. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8u7iu_AJs0 My Review: Having never heard of this movie before and knowing nothing about it before I watched it I thought that I would choose something in which looked rather cute to me and with being a lover of dogs this seemed to meet the criteria. This film was a good watch and one that I am glad that I decided to put on thanks to Netflix. I really liked how this film at the beginning showed how humans were able to talk to dogs and how that evolution took place in order to understand how dogs were able to talk to humans and be able to understood. This really helped to set up the film and with it having to do with a dog singing competition helped to show how humans wer

This is a film in which I have been excited about since I heard it was being made while also being scared as it was a live action make of the Pokemon world and wasn't sure if they would be able to do it well. I was really surprised by this film and enjoyed it a lot more than I was expecting. The CGI within this film is exceptional and made me really feel that the Pokemon in which were on the screen were real which left me leaving the cinema disappointed I wasn't going to be seein

I love how this film starts with showing how the Boov keep running away from their enemies which I think sets the atmosphere for the movie really well. Beauty and the Beast (film review)

Film: Beauty and the Beast Year: 2017 Genre: Family, Fantasy, Musical Directed By: Bill Condon Starring: Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, Luke Evans About:  A selfish prince is cursed to become a monster for the rest of his life, unless he learns to fall in love with a beautiful young woman he keeps prisoner. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e3Nl_TCQXuw My Review: Being a fan of Beauty and the Beast and having it as my favourite classic Disney movie I somehow never got around to seeing the 2017 version of the movie. So wanting a movie to watch before work I thought that it would be the perfect time to see this film and having high expectations of it was happily surprised. I liked how this movie showed how the Beast became cursed right at the very start of the movie and showed how he would be able to break the curse. This helped the audience really see the changes which happens within the prince and as a result care for him throughout the movie. I thought that the look o

Griffith Starring: Jonathan Haze, Jackie Joseph, Mel Welles About:  A clumsy young man nurtures a plant and discovers that it's carnivorous, forcing him to kill to feed it. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-5kuxXQg1M My Review: Having not seen this movie in a while I thought it would be a great time to watch it again and remember just how funny it is. I am not usually a fan of old films only as I am not a fan of black and white movies however this is one that does make me laugh and is a rare exception for me. I really like how this movie is funny and focuses on the story of the plant and how the plant grows into eating people. Having the characters who get eaten people in which you don't like and some that make you laugh is a great way of making you side with the plant and the young man who has had the unfortunate opportunity of discovering him. I also tho

I found that this movie was really sweet and great for children who are looking for a nice adventure movie. I thought by having it crossing water knowing t

Goosebumps: Don't Feed The Vampire - R.L. Stine (book review)

Book: Goosebumps: Please Don't Feed The Vampire Author: R.L. Stine Genre: Children's, Horror Published By: Scholastic Published Year: 1997 My Review: Taking part in the OWL'S Readathon a subject I had was Care of Magical Creatures which had the prompt of "Land Animal on the Cover" because of this I thought it would be the perfect time to go back to a book I loved when I was younger called Goosebumps: Please Don't Feed The Vampire . Which I ended up still enjoying even though I am now an adult. The book is one where the reader is able to make the decisions of the book and from the beginning there is two different routes in which the reader is able to take. The first is a story where the reader becomes a vampire and gets to choose how they deal with becoming one from trying to become human again to also staying a vampire. The other is where the dog becomes a vampire instead! I personally think that this book is great for engaging readers with letti
