My Review:
Having been a Pokemon fan since I was really young and being a big fan of Ryan Reynolds I had to see Detective Pikachu as soon as I could. This is a film in which I have been excited about since I heard it was being made while also being scared as it was a live action make of the Pokemon world and wasn't sure if they would be able to do it well. I was really surprised by this film and enjoyed it a lot more than I was expecting.

The CGI within this film is exceptional and made me really feel that the Pokemon in which were on the screen were real which left me leaving the cinema disappointed I wasn't going to be seeing real  life Pokemon. Making an adaptation of a gaming world in which is vastly loved is a hard thing to do however I feel that this film done it perfectly and is one of the best adaptations of a game made into live action I have ever seen. I also found that the humour within this film was spot on and helped to really make this film great for the whole family as well as a hit with adults who grew up with the Pokemon franchise. Not only this but having links to Kanto with Mewtwo shown as the villain though later found out to be the good guy within this gave a lot of nostalgia as well as made the audience feel for him and the pain in which he had been suffering. This movie did make me really happy and smile and get excited as well as upset me at moments and have me close to tears with showing how Pikachu was really his father who was about to die. This was a really sweet moment of the movie and one that stayed with me even after the movie ended. I really hope that this is something in which they do more often and that Pokemon keep doing live action movies as this was done perfectly and as a result has become my favourite movie of 2019 so far!

There is nothing about this film in which I could fault and I highly recommend Detective Pikachu to those who are a fan of the Pokemon franchise but also those who are looking for a great family movie. This is definitely my favourite movie of 2019 so far and I really hope that they make more live action movies! I am definitely going to be buying this movie when it gets released onto physical format.

My Rating: 5/5

Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZUdy0Cu3f_o My Review: Looking through my movies and wanting something based in space to watch I decided to put on Supernova which is a film in which I couldn't remember at all. Not remembering it made me feel like this was a new movie to me and I did keep me watching all of the way through easily. I like that this film showed how the device in which they discover is able to make people stronger and able to make them younger as well. By also having this device able to reattach body parts it makes the audience worried about how they will get rid o

Moon Over Soho - Ben Aaronovitch (book review) *contains spoilers*

Book: Moon Over Soho Author: Ben Aaronovitch Genre: Crime, Fantasy, Mystery Published By: Gollancz Published Year: 2011 My Review: Having my colleague let me borrow the second book in the Peter Grant series I was looking forward to see how they would progress from the first book and what supernatural beings that they would have to defeat now. Moon Over Soho  is about jazz musicians who end up dying not long after coming off of the stage and seeming healthy at the time. Feeling that something is wrong they call in Peter Grant to help with the investigation and discover that something supernatural was going on. While this is happening there is a new threat arriving called The Faceless One who is also a wizard but no-one remembers what they look like. Will Peter be able to stop the threats facing London? Personally, I liked this book a lot more than the first book as it was already established also there was more supernatural beings introduced and to worry about in London th
