Mission Impossible (film review)

Film: Mission Impossible Year: 1996 Genre: Action, Adventure, Thriller Directed By: Brian De Palma Starring: Tom Cruise, Jon Voight, Emmanuelle Beart About:  An American agent, under false suspicion of disloyalty, must discover and expose the real spy without the help of his organization. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qbg99ykA2bk My Review: Having wanted to go and see the new Mission Impossible movie however having not seen the others in years I decided to watch the previous movies starting from the very beginning. The film is about an American spy called Ethan who after his team gets killed ends up being tracked down by the main organisation of spies for being a mole. However, Ethan ends up trying to save the rest of the spies from having their identities acknowledged and find the real mole within the company. I personally really like this film and find that the theme tune to me is the definition of a spy tune and will always be the one that goes st...

MIlk (film review)

Film: Milk Year: 2008 Genre: Biography, Drama Directed By: Gus Van Sant Starring: Sean Penn, Josh Brolin, Emile Hirsch About:  The story of Harvey Milk, and his struggles as an American gay activist who fought for gay rights and became California's first openly gay elected official. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQNOViU_CnE My Review: Having been recommended to see this film, I had a look on Netflix to see if it was there and was glad to see it was. Knowing nothing about this film before seeing it, which made this all new and exciting for me to go into. The film is about how in the 1970's there was a man called Harvey Milk and how he went into politics after feeling he had done nothing with the first forty years of his life. Showing how gay people had no rights and the fight to show America that gay people deserved rights and changed the minds of many around America! This film I found really powerful when watching and couldn't take my eyes off of ...

Having only seen the trailer I was not sure what to expect but glad I gave this a watch. The film is about a girl from America who moves to her families castle in France and is met by a vicar who tells her the rules of the household with three rules: no going upstairs, no uninvited guests and keeping decorum. As she stays however she starts getting nightmares about a youn...

Life and Death - Stephenie Meyer (book review)

Life and Death by Stephenie Meyer is a tenth anniversary of the book Twilight. As a Twilight fan and someone who managed to get through all of the Twilight Saga very quickly I decided to give this a read and see how this honored such a large part of my teenage years. This book follows Beau Swan as he moves to Forks to live with his dad Charlie, however while there he falls for Edythe Cullen a vampire who can't stay away from him. As this book goes on you see the romance between the two characters and the realism of loving someone you shouldn't. I found myself really enjoying this book however as the book is very similar to Twilight itself I couldn't help but to compare the two books mentally even though I was trying not to. I did love some of the changes that were made to the book however to make it more into its own story. Such changes as how Beau and Edythe talk about her being a vampire I thought was a much better way of doing things as it seemed to flow better. As...
