Leaving looking into this film and not seeing the trailer as I didn't want to ruin this for myself either I went in with an open mind and unsure what to expect. This film definitely exceeded my expectations and left me constantly wanting to know what was going to happen next. I thought that Mune: Guardian of the Moon was great in that it had someone who didn't want the job of guardian get it and h...

John Wick (film review)

Film: John Wick  Year: 2014 Genre: Action, Crime, Thriller Directed By: Chad Stahelski, David Leitch Starring: Keanu Reeves, Michael Nyqvist, Alfie Allen  About:  An ex-hit-man comes out of retirement to track down the gangsters that killed his dog and took everything from him. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RllJtOw0USI My Review: Noticing that John Wick was on TV and that I hadn't seen it in a while I decided to give it a watch, this is a film in which I have always enjoyed and being a fan of Keanu Reeves couldn't wait to see again.  This is a film in which I love the action within it and by showing the reasons why he is going after the gangsters. Showing that John is already going through grief when they make it worse and wants revenge by leaving him with nothing from his wife and nothing to love by killing the dog in which his wife gave him as a last present from her. Personally, I really like how much the audience is abl...

Film: The Christmas Dragon Year: 2014 Genre: Adventure, Drama, Fantasy Directed By: John Lyde Starring: Bailee Michelle Johnson, Paris Warner, David DeVilliers About:  A group of orphans goes on a journey to restore the lost magic and save Christmas. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N50pPqlCcIo My Review: With it being frosty outside at the moment I thought I would go for a Christmas movie that I had not seen before called The Christmas Dragon . This film did surprise me and I am glad that I saw this movie. I found that this movie was different from Christmas movies I usually end up seeing in that this one was an adventure to try and get an orb to Father Christmas in order to save Christmas from ending however without Santa approaching them and without the usual set-up of a Christmas movie. I thought by having the main characters of this film all being children that this helped to make it feel more of a family vibe to it. I also thought that the dragon i...

Guardians of the Galaxy is about a man called Peter Quill who when scavenging comes across an orb for a lot of money and goes to sell it however things don't go his way and when the evil Ronan tries to get his hands on it. Will the guardians be able to stop Ronan and save the galaxy as a result or will Ronan succeed? I love this film and all of the action in which it contain...

Film: The Giver Year: 2014 Genre: Drama, Romance, Sci-fi Directed By: Phillip Noyce Starring: Brenton Thwaites, Jeff Bridges, Meryl Streep About:  In a seemingly perfect community, without war, pain, suffering, differences or choice, a young boy is chosen to learn from an elderly man about the true pain and pleasure of the "real" world. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xvp6FnYWRZU My Review: Letting my mother choose the film for us to watch she decided to choose the movie The Giver which is something I had not seen before. The movie is about a boy called Jonas who is given the job of being the keeper of memories and discovers about a world with emotions and what is outside of his community which he had never experienced before. I like that this film was in black and white to show the emotionless ways of the community and how they had to get rid of their emotions and they didn't know about the past. However, when Jonas starts to learn more about emo...

The film is about a boy called Thomas who after brought into the glade is trying to help the boys escape and get out of the maze he has realised that they are in. Not only this but it shows the friendships as well as difficulties that the boys have had while in the glade and the monsters in the maze who are trying to stop them from escaping. The Maze Runner is a film in which I per...
