My Review:
Having had my eye on this film since last month I finally gave in and decided to watch it. Leaving looking into this film and not seeing the trailer as I didn't want to ruin this for myself either I went in with an open mind and unsure what to expect. This film definitely exceeded my expectations and left me constantly wanting to know what was going to happen next.

I thought that Mune: Guardian of the Moon was great in that it had someone who didn't want the job of guardian get it and have to learn it all for themselves without any guidance or advise which I thought was nice to see as it seems rare in movies. Not only this but the animation style of this film was different to what I am used to but not only suited the film but also kept the childhood feeling alive which was something I thought was really nice to watch. Having another style for the animation which was set in the dream world was really good as it helped to really show which world the characters were in at a time and gave more understanding to Mune's powers in the film. Having the guardian of the sun also not sure about Mune and wanting the man who had been trained to be the guardian which got refused the title of guardian of the moon not believe in him was a good way of showing how people can have a wrong impression. Not only this but after Mune is able to help save the moon and both character's realise how wrong they were about him and even become friends was something I thought was really sweet and touching. I loved that the girl in the film needed the heat and was able to help both of the guardians in getting back the sun and the moon and bring back the world in which they knew. She made me smile and when she dies at the end of the film saving the sun was really sweet however made me tear up a little when she got revived and seeing how happy both of the guardians were about her return as well as finding her love for Mune, which leads to them being together. I found the story was original and that did make this an even better watch in my opinion as it kept me wondering what was going to happen next especially when the moon fully disappears and a lava monster darkens the sun. I did think that one of the small lava monsters were really funny and sweet that he just wanted to look after plants and be part with nature as well as not hurt anyone around him unlike his friend. Finally, having the lava monster as someone who was corrupted by darkness and only after the darkness is taken out of him that he is able to find peace and that the land around him becomes healthy and happy was really interesting and showed how darkness corrupts those around them but lightness is able to create a good atmosphere around yourself as well as able to effect the people and atmosphere around yourself.

I couldn't fault this film and thought that it was really enjoyable as well as made me laugh at times throughout as well. I would highly recommend Mune: Guardian of the Moon to those who like animation films and want something that is original. I am definitely going to be seeing this again and so happy that I decided to give this film a chance.

My Rating: 5/5

Moon Over Soho - Ben Aaronovitch (book review) *contains spoilers*

Book: Moon Over Soho Author: Ben Aaronovitch Genre: Crime, Fantasy, Mystery Published By: Gollancz Published Year: 2011 My Review: Having my colleague let me borrow the second book in the Peter Grant series I was looking forward to see how they would progress from the first book and what supernatural beings that they would have to defeat now. Moon Over Soho  is about jazz musicians who end up dying not long after coming off of the stage and seeming healthy at the time. Feeling that something is wrong they call in Peter Grant to help with the investigation and discover that something supernatural was going on. While this is happening there is a new threat arriving called The Faceless One who is also a wizard but no-one remembers what they look like. Will Peter be able to stop the threats facing London? Personally, I liked this book a lot more than the first book as it was already established also there was more supernatural beings introduced and to worry about in London th

Supernova (film review) *contains spoilers*

Film: Supernova Year: 2000 Genre: Horror, Sci-fi, Thriller Directed By: Walter Hill Starring: James Spader, Peter Facinelli, Robin Tunney About:  Supernova chronicles the search and rescue patrol of a medical ship in deep space in the early 22nd century and its six-member crew which includes a captain and pilot, a co-pilot, a medical officer, a medical technician, a search and rescue. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZUdy0Cu3f_o My Review: Looking through my movies and wanting something based in space to watch I decided to put on Supernova which is a film in which I couldn't remember at all. Not remembering it made me feel like this was a new movie to me and I did keep me watching all of the way through easily. I like that this film showed how the device in which they discover is able to make people stronger and able to make them younger as well. By also having this device able to reattach body parts it makes the audience worried about how they will get rid o

The Incantation (film review)

Film: The Incantation Year: 2018 Genre: Adventure, Fantasy, Horror Directed By: Jude S. Walko Starring: Dean Cain, Sam Valentine, Jude S. Walko About:  A young American girl has a chance of a lifetime to visit her ancestors castle in the south of France, only to find that her family is hiding deep, dark secrets about their nefarious past, far away from prying eyes. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_EARmKIxjxQ&t=82s My Review: Having been contacted by Jude himself about this movie I was rather surprised but excited to review The Incantation which comes out in America later this month. Having only seen the trailer I was not sure what to expect but glad I gave this a watch. The film is about a girl from America who moves to her families castle in France and is met by a vicar who tells her the rules of the household with three rules: no going upstairs, no uninvited guests and keeping decorum. As she stays however she starts getting nightmares about a young girl wh
