Film: Jumanji: The Next Level Year: 2019 Genre: Action, Adventure, Comedy Directed By: Jake Kasdan Starring: Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart About:  In Jumanji: The Next Level, the gang is back but the game has changed. As they return to rescue one of their own, the players will have to brave parts unknown from arid deserts to snowy mountains, to escape the world's most dangerous game. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBxcF-r9Ibs My Review: Loving Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle I knew I had to see this movie when it came out and luckily managed to see it in the cinema. With the cast of this film being amazing and the first one being one of my favourite releases of 2017/18 I was worried that this wouldn't have the same effect but I am so glad that I was wrong. Jumanji: The Next Level is amazing at bringing the humour back to the movie for a second time around and it doesn't feel forced or like it us unoriginal or used up from the last movie whic...

The House With A Clock In Its Walls (film review)

Film: The House With A Clock In It's Walls Year: 2018 Genre: Comedy, Family, Fantasy Directed By: Eli Roth Starring: Jack Black, Cate Blanchett, Owen Vaccaro About:  A young orphan named Lewis Barnavelt aids his magical uncle in locating a clock with the power to bring about the end of the world. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQGA42-U0Ro My Review: Having wanted to see this movie since it came out in the cinema I couldn't resist but to buy this and give it a watch. This is a movie in which really surprised me as it was different from how I had expected however made me enjoy it in a way I didn't expect. I found that this film was funny and made me laugh as well had elements of horror which made this a perfect children's horror to me and one that I would be able to watch when looking for something not very scary. I also thought that this film reminded me of some of my other childhood favourite horror films such as The Haunted Mansion with the way...

Tenacious D in The Pick Of Destiny (film review)

Film: Tenacious D in The Pick Of Destiny Year: 2006 Genre: Adventure, Comedy, Music Directed By: Liam Lynch Starring: Jack Black, Kyle Gass, JR Reed About:  To become the greatest band of all time, two slacker, wannabe-rockers set out on a quest to steal a legendary guitar pick that gives its holders incredible guitar skills, from a maximum security Rock and Roll museum. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TXxQFMG86HA My Review: Having not seen Tenacious D in The Pick Of Destiny for years I couldn't resist giving this a watch and I completely forgot just how good this movie was and how much it did make me laugh. The film is about JB who moves to Hollywood to try and meet the other half of what would be later called Tenacious D and how they came to be, when trying to win an open mic night however they realise that they need some new material and go after the pick of destiny which is held in the Rock and Roll museum. I thought that this film brilliantly sho...

Kung Fu Panda 2 (film review)

Film: Kung Fu Panda 2 Year: 2011 Genre: Animation, Action, Adventure Starring: Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Jackie Chan About:  Po and his friends fight to stop a peacock villain from conquering China with a deadly new weapon, but first the Dragon Warrior must come to terms with his past. My Review: Having recently watched Kung Fu Panda and realising that the second one is on Netflix I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to review this one as well! Having high hopes because of the first one this is what I thought of the follow up movie. Kung Fu Panda 2 again follows Po however he has accepted that he is the Dragon Warrior and has made friends with the furious five which he looked up to and who at first didn't accept him as the Dragon Warrior. However, when looking after a village he has a a flashback to when he is a child but doesn't understand what it is about. Throughout you start to wonder about Po's past and what has caused the flashbacks to begin an...

Kung Fu Panda (film review)

Film: Kung Fu Panda Year: 2008 Genre: Animation, Action, Adventure Starring: Jack Black, Ian McShane, Angelina Jolie About:  The Dragon Warrior has to clash against the savage Tai Lung as China's fate hangs in the balance: However, the Dragon Warrior mantle is supposedly mistaken to be bestowed upon an obese panda who is a tyro in martial arts My Review: Loving animated films and finding that they always make me happy and laugh I decided to watch Kung Fu Panda for the first time in years. This is my thoughts on the movie! The film follows a panda called Po who dreams of being a Kung Fu master till one day he becomes the Dragon Warrior a warrior in which is meant to be the strongest and most powerful. When Po an obese panda becomes him however you see the struggle of becoming who he is meant to be when he doesn't know anything at all about Kung Fu. I personally loved this film, it had the right amount of humour for the film as well as action. Making me laugh a lot t...

Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle (film review)

Film: Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle Year: 2017 Genre: Action, Adventure, Comedy Cast: Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, Kevin Hart, Jack Black About:  Four teenagers are sucked into a magical video game, and the only way they can escape is to work together to finish the game. My Review: As someone who grew up watching the Jumanji film with Robin Williams I was worried about the new film and if this would ruin the film that I grew up loving. I was gladly proven wrong! This film is based after Jumanji and is through a video game which is more with the times rather than board games, not only this but it is based around two people who are more nerds/geeks (one male and one female) and two of the popular group (one male and one female). As you see them coming to terms with their new characters and making it so that the popular ones are the more weak characters who aren't as popular and vice versa it made the film something for everyone. The casting for this film was amazing and hav...
