Film: The Darkness Year: 2016 Genre: Horror, Thriller Directed By: Greg McLean Starring: Kevin Bacon, Radha Mitchell, David Mazouz About:  A family unknowingly awakens an ancient supernatural entity on a Grand Canyon vacation, and must fight for survival when it follows them home. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDhoqY1grJY My Review: Wanting a horror movie to watch, my mum decided to choose the film The Darkness. Knowing nothing about the film prior to seeing it and having not seen it before I was rather excited to see this. The Darkness is about a family who goes to the Grand Canyon and when their son comes across some stones decides to take them home with him. However the stones end up having a much darker purpose than they intended and could end up killing or breaking the family apart. I thought that this film was brilliant and I really enjoyed how the movie showed right away how the son found the stones in which ends up making all of the problems for the

Film: The Purge: Election Year Year: 2016 Genre: Action, Horror, Sci-fi Directed By: James DeMonaco Starring: Frank Grillo, Elizabeth Mitchell, Mykelti Williamson About:  Former Police Sergeant Barnes becomes head of security for Senator Charlie Roan, a Presidential candidate targeted for death on Purge night due to her vow to eliminate the Purge. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9rqIJcY9hMc My Review: Having seen the first two in the Purge series and it coming ever closer to Halloween I thought that it would be good to watch The Purge: Election Year . I thought that this film was good as it showed at the very beginning why the Senator wanted to get rid of the Purge and that on the lead up the annual Purge made it legal for everyone to become a target including the government and the New Founding Fathers which created the annual Purge. I liked that this film although not being as scary as the first two movies showed a story and how some people are still trying to

Film: The Titan Year: 2018 Genre: Sci-Fi, Thriller Directed By: Lennart Ruff Starring: Sam Worthington, Taylor Schilling, Tom Wilkinson About:  A military family takes part in a ground-breaking experiment of genetic evolution and space exploration. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ctM8zpe3BHo My Review: Seeing The Titan on Netflix I thought that I would check it out as it was a sci-fi/thriller and new to 2018. This film was how I expected it to be and I was rather glad to have watched it. The Titan is about a group of people who go through experiments in order to lower their oxygen levels and get them ready to go to the planet Titan in order to see if there is a chance that the human race could live outside of Earth. However the experiment is not what it seems. I thought that this film was rather interesting and showed how to enhance human evolution in order to better the human race but also showed the side effects and how dangerous that it can be. By also keep

However, when it gets broken into pieces the girl goes and tries to make the ball one before the ceremony with the help of her pet rat. I thought that this film was funny at parts and did make me enjoy the film a lot more than I expected I would. I liked how it added some adventure to the film with the map and h

Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZ0QKOR5Kgc My Review: Letting my mum choose the film in which we watch she decided to have a look through Netflix and came across I Kill Giants and thought that this would be good for us to watch. The film is about a girl called Barbara who is trying to save her town from giants in which cause all the pain and death within the town and how she battles them with the help of a new girl who has just come to the town. I thought that this film had brilliant symbolism within this with having the giants really as Barbara's demons and how she has to face them, with the bag also holding the light showing the little hope in which she had left it highlighted how little Barbara really was feeling

I thought that this film was funny throughout and was a great mystery film which is all made into a game for the group of friends, with this film also bringing in a creepy neighbour in which the audience doesn't trust was a good addition. I thought that this film had a couple of really good twists within it and made me want to see more of what was going to happen next as well as shocked with some of the things th

Baby Driver is about a man called Baby who is working for a crime lord to pay him back for something in the past however when all of the money is paid up and he thinks that he is finally free he gets pulled into one last job that he does not want to do. I thought that this film was really good in showing why he had his headphones in all of the time and how he was still able to know what everyone was saying and his passion for music. I thought by having him live with someo

Santos About:  18-year-old Penny Cooper spent years pining for Johnny Sanders Jr., but when a mysterious musician shows up on the beach, Penny is torn. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wfx2EWxqAkI My Review: Wanting to see something I hadn't before I decided to watch SPF-18 which did unfortunately disappoint me. The movie is about a girl who spends her time always recording everything around her and when her, her boyfriend and her cousin go to Malibu to house sit comes across a musician on the beach and create a friendship which will last forever. I thought that this film had a good way of showing how sometimes in music it is hard to do what you really want to due to record labels having artistic control over the music. With this also showing how sometimes it is good to show the world the other side of you in which people are not used to and the

As the investigation proceeds, evidence points to one suspect: John Kramer, the man known as Jigsaw, who has been dead for over 10 years Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fcb68kAOvt4 My Review: Having not seen the newest Saw movie I was surprised to see that it was on Netflix, however this just made me have to see it especially on the lead up to Halloween. I am so glad that I was not disappointed with this movie as I was worried with the amount of Saw movies that this one would be the same and get boring rather quickly. I thought that this film was rather clever and kept Jigsaw to the same formula in which the audience is used to with the Saw franchise. However, when the murders and bodies start happening ten years afte
