Broken Homes- Ben Aaronovitch (book review) *contains spoilers*

Book: Broken Homes Author: Ben Aaronovitch Genre: Crime, Fantasy, Mystery Published By: Gollancz Published Year: 2013 My Review: With my work colleague letting me borrow the next book in the Peter Grant series, I was hoping that this book would be as good as the previous book which had me wondering what was going to happen next and if they would discover where the dark wizard was hiding. Not only this, but with the characters moving to a building they felt had a magical connection, I was wondering how this would effect not only the people performing good magic but the ones who would want it for darkness. Broken Homes did surprise me with the ending however it did rather bore me throughout which did disappoint me. I liked that Broken Homes showed that it wasn't only people who could be magical but that it could also be buildings which demonstrated how magic was everywhere and could build in certain parts of the city. With this being something that I hadn't thought of...

Film: Snowpierer Year: 2013 Genre: Action, Drama, Sci-fi Directed By: Bong Joon-Ho Starring: Chris Evans, Jamie Bell, Tilda Swinton About:  In a future where a failed climate-change experiment has killed all life except for the lucky few who boarded the Snowpiercer, a train that travels around the globe, a new class system emerges Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6UmqNuMdY4 My Review: Being a movie I discovered years ago and completely fell in love with to the point it is one of my favourite movies of all time, I was excited to see that they had finally put this on Netflix so that others could discover it and love it as much as myself. As a result I thought I would re-watch Snowpiercer and give it a review which is fun for me as it is a film in which I really enjoy and feel is very underrated. I love how this film begins by showing you how the passengers who are on the train that goes around the world are the only survivors of the human race. By doing t...

Heartbreak Hotel - Deborah Moggach (book review) *contains spoilers*

Book: Heartbreak Hotel Author: Deborah Moggach Genre: Fiction, romance, comedy Published By: Penguin Published Year: 2013 As part of a book group I had the challenge of reading a book with the word "HOTEL" in it. As a result I picked up Heartbreak Hotel by Deborah Moggach at my local library without knowing what the book was about and having never read anything by the author before. The book is about a man called Buffy who when his friend Bridie dies and gives him in her will her BnB in Wales he decides to move from London to take over the BnB. When realising that the place isn't making any money Buffy decides to do classes for those who are recently broken up or divorced so that they could learn the skills in which their partners always done for the couples. However, it brings a lot of different things to the hotel instead in terms of friendships, love and even drama. The book does follow ten different characters which does make this novel rather confusing an...

My Review: This is a film I have seen many times however never get bored or tired of, so given a nice and relaxing night I decided to give this another watch and share my views on it. This film is about a man who when his sperm is used to father over 500 children and 142 want to find out who he is decides to find out a little about his children without them knowing it. With a law suit also in place for him to reveal who he is while he still wants to be an anonymous donor who will win the law suit and will he ever reveal who he is? Prisoners (film review)

Film: Prisoners Year: 2013 Genre: Crime, Drama, Mystery Starring: Hugh Jackman, Jake Gyllenhaal. Viola Davis About:  When Keller Dover's daughter and her friend go missing, he takes matters into his own hands as the police pursue multiple leads and the pressure mounts My Review: Wanting to see more of a missing person movie which I had not seen in a while but I knew that I liked I decided to put on Prisoners after realising that it was on Netflix! Hoping that this would not disappoint me since I have seen it before and having an amazing cast I couldn't help but watch this and give it a review. The film is about two children who go missing and Keller (Hugh Jackman) takes matters into his own hands in order to try and find his daughter and her friend. Torturing someone who he believes is involved as he doesn't know what else to do to get the man to talk after the police had already interrogated him. This film is one of my favourite missing person films even thoug...
