Butterfly Summer - Anne-Marie Conway (book review)

Butterfly summer by Anne-Marie Conway is such a great little mystery novel which follows Becky who moves to Oakbridge with her mum and becomes friends with a girl who is always at the Butterfly Garden called Rosa May. However as Becky finds out about a photo from her mothers past which she has no idea about she starts questioning her mum and everything she knows about the past. This is such a good fast-paced novel in which I couldn't put down once I picked it up. It is kind of predictable a times but there is a great twist near the end of the book which was amazing. I do think it ended rather abruptly however and there was more of the novel that could have been expended on and leaves you wanting more by the end of the book. I would highly recommend this book to younger readers who are looking for a mystery book as well as people wanting a mystery book who wants a very simple story line that is really easy to follow.

Valentine's at the Graff - Sinclair Jayne (book review)

Valentine's at the Graff is the fourth book in the Holiday at the Graff series of books by Sinclair Jayne. However, you do not need to have read the other books before this to read it as it a great stand alone novel, which makes you not want to put it down once you pick it up! This book follows two protagonists; one is Miranda a woman who is opening her own shop and has been focusing on everyone else but herself for her whole life. The other is Witt; a doctor who has taken a residency for one month at his home town of Marietta and has been focusing on leaving as fast as he can. I loved this about the book as it showed both sides of the novel from both the male's perspective as well as the woman's. As the book starts Miranda is only just about to open her store when Witt enters town who she has been in love with since she was in high school and twelve years later nothing has changed. However as the book carries on you see how they both gain feelings for each other as M

Black Panther (film review)

Film: Black Panther Year:  2018 Genre: Action, Adventure, Sci-fi Starring: Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong'o About:  T'Challa, the King of Wakanda, rises to the throne in the isolated, technologically advanced African nation, but his claim is challenged by a vengeful outsider who was a childhood victim of T'Challa's father's mistake My Review:  As a lover of Marvel comics and superhero films this really excited me having Black Panther finally as a hero which will be recognised by everyone as one of their own and joining the Avengers. With a lot of hype about this film as well I wanted to see if it lived up to it and why this was being called the first of it's kind for a black superhero movie when there is previous black hero's. As this film follows T'Challa gets to become king of Wakanda you see the struggle in which he is having letting go of his father and not really understanding how to run his country. As well as this yo

Life and Death - Stephenie Meyer (book review)

Life and Death by Stephenie Meyer is a tenth anniversary of the book Twilight. As a Twilight fan and someone who managed to get through all of the Twilight Saga very quickly I decided to give this a read and see how this honored such a large part of my teenage years. This book follows Beau Swan as he moves to Forks to live with his dad Charlie, however while there he falls for Edythe Cullen a vampire who can't stay away from him. As this book goes on you see the romance between the two characters and the realism of loving someone you shouldn't. I found myself really enjoying this book however as the book is very similar to Twilight itself I couldn't help but to compare the two books mentally even though I was trying not to. I did love some of the changes that were made to the book however to make it more into its own story. Such changes as how Beau and Edythe talk about her being a vampire I thought was a much better way of doing things as it seemed to flow better. As

The Open House (film review)

Film: The Open House Year: 2018 Genre: Horror, Thriller Starring: Dylan Minnette, Piercey Dalton, Patricia Bethune About:  A teenager and his mother find themselves besieged by threatening forces when they move into a new house. My Review:  As Netflix bring more original series and films to their database The Open House was a film which came up as a popular choice so I decided to check this out and see if it was as good as Netflix was making out it was.  This film follows a teenager who after seeing his dad get killed in front of him moves out of his house and goes to live at his aunt's but while there weird things start to happen which all has to do with the basement of the house.  This film at the beginning seemed to have a lot in which to bring in the audience such as the father dying and all of the jump scares and making you suspicious of certain characters such as the neighbor, the man in the shop who randomly appears at their house, the people selling the house a

Maze Runner: The Death Cure (film review)

Film: Maze Runner: The Death Cure Year: 2018 Genre: Action, Sci-fi, Thriller Starring: Dylan O' Brien, Ki Hong Lee, Kaya Scodelario About: Young hero Thomas embarks on a mission to find a cure for a deadly disease known as the "Flare" . My Review:  The Death Cure being the third in the Maze Runner series follows Thomas and him trying to save Minho throughout this film. Later after finding out that Newt has the "Flare" Thomas tries to find a way to save him as well making this film full of action and suspense. However after being a big fan of this book by James Dashner and being really excited by the trailer and the movie itself I was both happily surprised and disappointed with this film. I did love this film because of the way that you could see what was happening to Minoh within "Wicked" and how they were willing to do anything to make a cure for the "Flare" no matter what the costs were. As well as this you got to see how people
