The Road To El Dorado (film review) *contains spoilers*

Film: The Road To El Dorado Year: 2000 Genre: Animation, Adventure, Comedy Directed By: Bibo Bergeron, Don Paul Starring: Kevin Kline, Kenneth Branagh, Rosie Perez About:  Two swindlers get their hands on a map to the fabled city of gold, El Dorado. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JcOfJwN0bdY My Review:  Letting my Twitter decide which movie that it wants to see me review the most voted for movie was The Road To El Dorado . Having either never seen this before or not having seen it in so long that I couldn't remember anything about it I was excited to watch this. Knowing that this was a children's movie I wasn't sure what this would be like but really hoped that it would be good for both adults and children and I was not disappointed. Humor is a key part of the film and was very well done for both an adult and child audience with jokes that both adults and children would get without it being too obvious. Having this made me laugh and enjoy the film...

The Hustle (film review) *contains spoilers*

Film: The Hustle Year: 2019 Genre: Crime, Comedy Directed By: Chris Addison Starring: Anne Hathaway, Rebel Wilson, Alex Sharp About:  Two con women - one low rent and the other high class - team up to take down the men who have wronged them. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_j5hwooOHVE My Review: Having asked my Facebook page what film they would like me to review last week (sorry for the delay) they chose The Hustle . This is a movie that I wanted to see in the cinema but never got around to. I was excited by the premise of the movie and the casting as it had Anne Hathaway however it ended up being not as good as I had expected. Showing how both of the main female characters in the movie Penny played by Rebel Wilson and Josephine by Anne Hathaway both in their own hustling ways was a good way of showing their own distinct styles. By further showing how Penny is an amateur and hustles people who only see her as her looks and decides that they should be t...

Along with adventurer Adelina Fortnight, this trio of explorers travel the world to help their new friend. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6jCNhebfg8 My Review: Having wanted to see this in the cinema and not getting around to it I was glad to see that this came onto Netflix so that I was finally able to see this. Thinking that the trailer looked funny and being a fan of Hugh Jackman I was excited to see if this would be as good as I was hoping however even though it didn't wow me it did make me laugh. I thought by introducing the main character of Lionel by showing how he was trying to get a picture with Nessie was a good way of opening the movie, with being Scottish myself it was funny ...

Film: Matilda Year: 1996 Genre: Comedy, Family, Fantasy Directed By: Danny DeVito Starring: Danny DeVito, Rhea Perlman, Mara Wilson About:  Story of a wonderful little girl, who happens to be a genius, and her wonderful teacher vs. the worst parents ever and the worst school principal imaginable. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hUGHWje7liM My Review: Asking a few people in a group chat what movie they think I should from a choice of three, Matilda came out on top. Happy to watch a nice relaxing movie after finishing work it was good to watch a film in which I grew up watching and that I knew I would enjoy. I like that Matilda is a bookworm and how she loved to escape into books as this is something in which I do a lot so I felt I was able to identify with the character and make me like the character of Matilda a lot more. Not only this but as she finds this so much better than the television that her family love to watch I thought made her different fro...

As they return to rescue one of their own, the players will have to brave parts unknown from arid deserts to snowy mountains, to escape the world's most dangerous game. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBxcF-r9Ibs My Review: Loving Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle I knew I had to see this movie when it came out and luckily managed to see it in the cinema. With the cast of this film being amazing and the first one being one of my favourite releases of 2017/18 I was worried that this wouldn't have the same effect but I am so glad that I was wrong. Jumanji: The Next Level is amazing at bringing the humour back to the movie for a second time around and it doesn't feel forced or like it us unoriginal or used up from the last movie whic...

Being a fan of Jack Whitehall who voices in the main character as well I thought that this would be a film in which I would enjoy especially as I love dogs. I did think that it was cute seeing Rex as a puppy compared to an adult as it gave the audience a better understanding of why the other corgi's thought he was annoying and didn...

Being also asked to review this film I thought it would be a good opportunity to do both of these at the same time. This is a film I never noticed was a biography movie before seeing it and I thought was good for showing more about the wrestler Paige. I enjoyed how this film showed how a girl from England first got into wrestling and how it was her dream to be in the WWE and got given the opportunity. By ...

Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VzXjtxZaGS8 My Review: Over the Christmas period I decided to watch some films that I hadn't previously seen before and one of those being  Fred Claus  I thought that this was different to other Christmas movies as it focus' on Santa's brother rather than on Santa himself but also on how to keep Christmas alive and not have it closed down. By having Vince Vaughn as the main character in this I had good expectations for this movie as I generally enjoy everything in which I have seen him in. I thought that  Fred Claus  was good in how it showed how Nicholas became a saint and how h...

I find that this film always makes me happy and it just relaxes me to watch which is something in which I was really looking for when I decided to put this on. Personally I love this film, this humour in it is brilliant for both adults and children which does make this an easy film to watch with the whole family. Not only this but by having it with fairytales in which people grew up with as some of the characters and making the traditiona...

I did think that this was a cute adventure movie but would be better suited to a younger audience than myself. I found that this film was really sweet that the snake wanted to go across the desert in order to find a snake in which he found he felt a connection with even though they were different kinds and also from different worlds. I also thought by having the girls brother being a drug addict and struggling with wanting more drugs and wanting to leave his...

As a result I thought that this would be the perfect film for me to review. Personally I liked how this film showed how Storks carried babies like what children are told when they are little however decided to change to just delivering parcels due to one of them wanting to steal a baby and as a result has lived in their warehouse her whole life. I did ...

I love how this film although being about football and being something I am not interested in brings it to an enjoyable place for me as well as having the comedy and romance side to keep me fully entertained. Having the film show how the girls team was cut from Viola's school and showing how she just wanted to play and would have played on the b...

Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8lDreq9le4 My Review: Wanting to watch a rom-com and having this on my Watch List on Netflix I couldn't resist but give this film a chance and see what I thought. Having liked Emma Roberts in everything I had seen her in previously as well I was excited to see if this was another film of hers in which I would enjoy. This film surprised me however I ended up enjoying this more than I expected. I liked that this film had a Romeo and Juliet vibe with the families not liking each other however the children both being in love with each other and feeling that their families were the reason in which they couldn't be together. I also thought it was clever having the gr...

Leaving looking into this film and not seeing the trailer as I didn't want to ruin this for myself either I went in with an open mind and unsure what to expect. This film definitely exceeded my expectations and left me constantly wanting to know what was going to happen next. I thought that Mune: Guardian of the Moon was great in that it had someone who didn't want the job of guardian get it and h...

Jackson, Joan Cusack About:  A woman named Kit receives a mysterious invitation that would fulfill her childhood dreams. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r_51UsTDBAE My Review: Having had this on my To Watch List on Netflix since it first came out I thought I would give Unicorn Store a watch. I wasn't really sure what to expect with this movie as having heard nothing about it from anyone and not having watched a trailer for it. As I did go in with an open mind I did feel like this movie did disappoint me and as it is classed as a comedy I personally just didn't understand as this is far more of a drama film. I did like how Unicorn Store focused on someone who thought that they were a failure in their lives and that they couldn't be loved by anyone including her parents due to being as she called herself "a failure" in which c...

As a favourite of mine when I was younger and still really enjoying it as an adult. This film makes me laugh as well as keeps me entertained throughout. I love that this film is about a an who is stuck as a ghost due to killing himself and not really understanding the truth about how the love of his life died. I think by having the woman in the film look like her which is why she is brought to the mansion rather sweet and ...

Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JcMtWwiyzpU My Review: Loving Aladdin since I was a child and seeing that a new one was released with one of my favourite actors Will Smith in it I badly needed to go and see it. Feeling worried that it wouldn't live up to the previous with Robin Williams as he left an incredible character of Genie behind. However, this movie exceeded my expectations and I ended up loving it a lot more than I expected. I loved that the beginning of the movie foreshadowed the film with showing how Will Smith was telling his children a story which had some songs about a princess, prince and a genie in which later is his family after the genie is allowed to become hu...
