I thought that the cinematography in this movie was brilliant and really brought me into the film and continuously think that the cameraman done an amazing job at creating an atmosphere in which was dangerous but also showed so much love within the clan and the beauty in the land in which they were living. I did think also that by showing how the Chri...

The Current War (film review)

Film: The Current War Year: 2017 Genre: Biography, Drama, History Directed By: Alfonso Gomez-Rejon Starring: Benedict Cumberbatch, Oliver Powell, Katherine Waterston About:  The dramatic story of the cutthroat race between electricity titans Thomas Edison and George Westinghouse to determine whose electrical system would power the modern world Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kue18AxK1tU My Review: Having wanted to see The Current War since it was in the cinema after seeing how it had an incredible cast of actors in which I already like I knew I had to see it once it came onto DVD. Not only this but not knowing much about the electricity feud this was a subject in which I found myself really interested in which made me enjoy this film a lot more than I had expected. I thought that it was good how it showed the rivalry between both Edison and Westinghouse and how Edison was willing to tarnish his name in order to get ahead and even go against his own beli...

The Secret Teachings of All Ages - Manly P. Hall (book review)

Book: The Secret Teachings of All Ages Author: Manly P. Hall Genre: Non-Fiction, Philosophy, History Published By: Start Publishing LLC  Published Year: 1928 Having been requested The Secret Teachings of All Ages I thought I would pick it up and it did take me a lot longer than I thought it would to get through this book by taking almost three months to read and finish. This book I did find very interesting in places and had some topics in which I found myself really enjoying such as: The Zodiac and Its Signs, The Pythagorean Theory of Music and Colour, Stones, Metals and Gems. I did find these alongside other chapters o the book and learning new things which was a great thing for me as it did give me more knowledge in which I would not have known any other way. There was certain parts of the book however which did not interest me and did make me rather bored of reading even though certain aspects of chapters would be more interesting than others. As well as this I fou...

The film is about The Stanford Prison Experiment where students were put into two groups one of guards and the other of prisoners and how they changed as people and how physiologically both groups of people changed. Although the experiment was meant to end after two weeks it ended after six days and this film shows what happened with...

The Revenant (film review)

Film: The Revenant Year: 2015 Genre: Action, Adventure, History Starring: Leonardo Dicaprio, Tom Hardy, Will Poulter About:  A frontiersman on a fur trading expedition in the 1820s fights for survival after being mauled by a bear and left for dead by members of his own hunting team. My Review:  Having remembered that Leonardo won an Oscar for The Revenant and never having seen it I decided to see if it was as good as it came across back in 2015. This is my thoughts on the movie. The Revenant follows a man who after getting attacked by a bear and almost loses his life and losing his son to one of the people who were meant to look after him, tracks down the hunting party in which left him for dead in order to get revenge for his son. Through this you see the main character go through healing and really bad luck in order to try and find his son's killer. First off, I can understand why Leonardo won an Oscar for this movie the portrayal of his character is amazingly d...
