Five Feet Apart (film review) *contains spoilers*

Film: Five Feet Apart Year: 2019 Genre: Drama, Romance Directed By: Justin Baldoni Starring:  Haley Lu Richardson, Cole Sprouse, Moises Arias About:  A pair of teenagers with cystic fibrosis meet in a hospital and fall in love, though their disease means they must avoid close physical contact. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=24YrEAGF32M My Review: Asking my Twitter followers which movie I should watch between four movies; Five Feet Apart, Time Freak, The Stepford Wives and I Lost My Body the winning film was Five Feet Apart. I've been excited about this since it came onto Netflix and was extremely happy that my followers decided that this was the movie in which they were wanting me to review. I thought that Five Feet Apart was an amazing love story which made me cry at the ending and really had such a strong impact on the watcher. Seeing how both of the main characters suffered from cystic fibrosis and that they wouldn't be able to touch throughout...

Face 2 Face (film review) *contains spoilers*

Film: Face 2 Face Year: 2016 Genre: Drama Directed By: Matthew Toronto Starring: Daniela Bobadilla, Daniel Amerman, Kevin McCorkle About:  Over a series of video chats, a teenage outcast reaches out to his childhood friend, but finds that behind the veneer of popularity and a seemingly perfect life, she hides a disturbing secret. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6msoCKNKoME My Review: Looking through Netflix this movie grabbed my attention so knowing nothing about it I decided that this would be a good movie to watch. Heading into this initially thinking that it would be a horror I was gladly surprised that it wasn't and how real this movie felt. I really liked how Face 2 Face showed how people can look happy and like everything is okay when really there is hidden darkness within people and unless someone wants you to see that side of them you wouldn't be able to see it. Showing how the friends reconnect and try to help each other is such a sweet thing to...

The Bye Bye Man (film review) *contains spoilers*

Film: The Bye Bye Man Year: 2017 Genre: Drama, Fantasy, Horror Directed By: Stacy Title Starring: Douglas Smith, Lucien Laviscount, Cressida Bonas About:  Three friends stumble upon the horrific origins of a mysterious figure they discover is the root cause of the evil behind unspeakable acts. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGdOnCiQRpQ My Review: Feeling like watching a horror movie and seeing that The Bye Bye Man was on Netflix which is one I have never seen before I thought that this would be the perfect opportunity. Although I did like this I did have a couple of problems with it however. I thought that the foreshadowing at the very beginning of the film to the man killing everyone who knew about the Bye Bye Man was good at showing how no-one should know about it and how it can kill you by knowing which comes back later in the movie with the new people who know about him. I also thought that the story of this movie throughout was rather well done an...

SPF-18 (film review)

Film: SPF-18 Year: 2017 Genre: Romance Directed By: Alex Israel Starring: Carson Meyer, Noah Centineo, Bianca A. Santos About:  18-year-old Penny Cooper spent years pining for Johnny Sanders Jr., but when a mysterious musician shows up on the beach, Penny is torn. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wfx2EWxqAkI My Review: Wanting to see something I hadn't before I decided to watch SPF-18 which did unfortunately disappoint me. The movie is about a girl who spends her time always recording everything around her and when her, her boyfriend and her cousin go to Malibu to house sit comes across a musician on the beach and create a friendship which will last forever. I thought that this film had a good way of showing how sometimes in music it is hard to do what you really want to due to record labels having artistic control over the music. With this also showing how sometimes it is good to show the world the other side of you in which people are not used to and...

Love, Simon (film review)

Film:  Love, Simon Year: 2018 Genre: Comedy, Drama, Romance Starring: Nick Robinson, Jennifer Garner, Josh Duhamel About:  Simon Spier keeps a huge secret from his family, his friends, and all of his classmates: he's gay. When that secret is threatened, Simon must face everyone and come to terms with his identity. My Review:  Seeing a film that is a rom-com which has LGBT is rare to come across so when this film came out I couldn't stop myself from seeing it in the cinema, and hoping that this was going to be as good as it looked in the trailers. Love, Simon is about a gay child called Simon who is in his final year of high school and has the secret of being gay which noone knows about, when another child in his school who is also gay comes out however behind an alias Simon decides to message him with his own. As they get closer through means of e-mail he gets noticed by someone in his class who starts to blackmail him about revealing his secret and he does eve...
