Goosebumps: Don't Feed The Vampire - R.L. Stine (book review)

Book: Goosebumps: Please Don't Feed The Vampire Author: R.L. Stine Genre: Children's, Horror Published By: Scholastic Published Year: 1997 My Review: Taking part in the OWL'S Readathon a subject I had was Care of Magical Creatures which had the prompt of "Land Animal on the Cover" because of this I thought it would be the perfect time to go back to a book I loved when I was younger called Goosebumps: Please Don't Feed The Vampire . Which I ended up still enjoying even though I am now an adult. The book is one where the reader is able to make the decisions of the book and from the beginning there is two different routes in which the reader is able to take. The first is a story where the reader becomes a vampire and gets to choose how they deal with becoming one from trying to become human again to also staying a vampire. The other is where the dog becomes a vampire instead! I personally think that this book is great for engaging readers with letti...

Goosebumps 2 (film review) *contains spoilers*

Film: Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween Year: 2018 Genre: Adventure, Comedy, Family Directed By: Ari Sandel Starring: Wendi McLendon-Covey, Madison Iseman, Jeremy Ray Taylor About:  Two young friends find a magic book that brings a ventriloquist's dummy to life. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQeOzfm-lps My Review: Having been a fan of Goosebumps since I was a child and still being a fan I couldn't wait to see the second movie and to see if they did it as well as the first movie. Although this was more different than I expected it to be I was glad that this stayed to the Goosebumps feel and made me enjoy it more than I expected. This film had good humour within it and still kept it really creepy with having Slappy as the main villain in the movie as well as showing just how powerful he really is. I thought by also making Slappy really want to be part of the family until you make him mad stayed true to the books in which he is the same. Having this made m...

Goosebumps: One Day At Horrorland - R.L. Stine (book review)

Book: Goosebumps: One Day At Horrorland Author: R.L. Stine Genre: Horror, fiction, children's Published By: Scholastic Published Year: 1994 My Review:  Finishing my university assessments I chose a nice easy read to relax with and therefore chose one of my favourite Goosebumps books; One Day At Horrorland! This book is about the Morris family and their friend Clay who when going to the zoo ends up at Horrorland a theme park which is in the middle of the desert. However when the rides end up too scary and they can't find their parents are they going to be able to escape? This book is one of my favourite Goosebumps books and one that leaves me slightly scared as well as having a lot of adventure and comedy in which you would expect from a Goosebumps book. This is a book which never gets old and over twenty years later is still just as good as it was then. This book is an easy read and one that is perfect for children and for adults who would like a nice easy book t...

Goosebumps: The Haunted Mask - R.L. Stine (book review)

The Haunted Mask by R.L. Stine is the forth book in the Goosebumps series. This book will not only leave you scared but also make you laugh and not want to put the book down! Not only that but the way the book ends will make you come back begging for more! This book is about a girl who gets scared very easily and as a result people take advantage of this and make her a laughing stock including her friends, however she gets tired of this and decides to take matters into her own hands and gets the scariest mask she can find. However, when the mask starts to take over what will happen to her and will she ever get back to normal? Personally The Haunted Mask is one of my favourite Goosebumps books and even though I am now an adult leaves me scared and makes me laugh. I think this is a great thing for a children's book as it shows that R.L. Stine has a talent for writing horror books for children. I feel that the main character in this book is also very relatable with her friends...

Goosebumps: Attack of the Graveyard Ghouls - R.L. Stine (book review)

Goosebumps: Attack of the Graveyard Ghouls is the eleventh book in the Goosebumps series and one that will leave you constantly wondering what happens next. With small chapters throughout the book and ones that always end on a cliffhanger you are constantly engaged in the novel and don't want to put the book down. This book is about a little boy who on a school trip by accident knocks over the grave of two brothers who are desperate to have a body and cause havoc in their wake. As this happens a little boy named Spencer must go on an adventure and try and get his body back while also having the difficulty of only being able to travel by jumping into someone else's body. As a goosebumps fan this was an amazing read that is very easy and one that made me excited to read more of the Goosebumps series. I would highly recommend this to children and adults alike who would like a good read and one that you wont want to put down while also being a horror.
