My Review:
Looking through my movies and wanting something based in space to watch I decided to put on Supernova which is a film in which I couldn't remember at all. Not remembering it made me feel like this was a new movie to me and I did keep me watching all of the way through easily.

I like that this film showed how the device in which they discover is able to make people stronger and able to make them younger as well. By also having this device able to reattach body parts it makes the audience worried about how they will get rid of the villain since he has gotten overtaken by the device. I also liked that the villain showed how the team were not as strong as they thought that they were and easily manipulated. I also enjoyed seeing how they changed the computer programme to have a little more human emotion and is willing to go against their own code about hurting humans to save a human in which it loves however is too late to do so. This was really sweet and made me feel sorry on the Sweetie the computer programme. The ending in which the captain and the doctor manage to get back to Earth and how she is pregnant was a great way of ending the movie as it showed how something good came from it and that the father to her child was still with her and they would be able to go back to Earth and live their lives together. This film did captivate me though and made me want to keep watching and wonder what was going to happen next.

However, I feel that the beginning of the movie didn't feel like a beginning and I'm not sure wither it is because it is part way into their mission while they are away or just not enough background was given about the mission in which they were already on before embarking on a rescue mission. I also thought that there could have been more on the doctor's and the villain as they had a past prior to having re-met on the ship. The only other thing about this I feel could have been improved is really adding more time for each of the characters as I feel it was hard to connect to them as they were rather rushed over.

Overall, I think this is a good sci-fi movie however the characters don't connect to the audience as well as they could. I would recommend this to people who are looking for a space thriller to watch. I would watch this again.

My Rating: 3/5

Otherlife (film review) *contains spoilers*

Film: Otherlife Year: 2017 Genre: Crime, Mystery, Sci-fi Directed By: Ben C. Lucas Starring: Jessica De Gouw, Thomas Cocquerel, T.J. Power About:  After inventing a drug that induces time-compressed virtual realities, young Ren grapples with partner Sam over how to use their powerful creation. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qav2Z0TgYMA My Review: Seeing a film on Netflix that didn't sound familiar but was also sci-fi I had to give Otherlife a watch and this did surprise me however didn't leave me as satisfied as I hoped that it would. Otherlife is about a drug which creates a virtual reality however seems to be like real memories and a days worth of memories can be done very quickly. While trying to get funding Ren by accident ends up killing someone due to a glitch in the programme. As a result of this she gets put in an isolation in her own mind for a year due to the government wanting to use it on prisoners which is only an hour in the real world. ...

Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQE7NGkJZHs My Review: Letting my mum choose the movie for tonight she chose the film The Beyond which made me go into the film blind knowing nothing more than it was a sci-fi movie. I am glad I did go into this blind however as I am not sure I would have seen it otherwise. The Beyond is about a black hole which appears just outside of Earth and how astronauts are going to try and find out what is on the other side and what would happen if this did happen in the next y...

The Stanford Prison Experiment (film review)

Film: The Stanford Prison Experiment Year: 2015 Genre: Biography, Drama, History Directed By: Kyle Patrick Alvarez Starring: Ezra Miller, Tye Sheridan, Billy Crudup About:  In 1971, twenty-four male students are selected to take on randomly assigned roles of prisoners and guards in a mock prison situated in the basement of the Stanford psychology building. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3XN2X72jrFk My Review: With this experiment interesting me more than any other I have heard of I found out that there was a new film based off of the experiment and could not help but to see it and how this film would tackle this experiment. The film is about The Stanford Prison Experiment where students were put into two groups one of guards and the other of prisoners and how they changed as people and how physiologically both groups of people changed. Although the experiment was meant to end after two weeks it ended after six days and this film shows what happened with...
