My Review:
Asking a few people in a group chat what movie they think I should from a choice of three, Matilda came out on top. Happy to watch a nice relaxing movie after finishing work it was good to watch a film in which I grew up watching and that I knew I would enjoy.

I like that Matilda is a bookworm and how she loved to escape into books as this is something in which I do a lot so I felt I was able to identify with the character and make me like the character of Matilda a lot more. Not only this but as she finds this so much better than the television that her family love to watch I thought made her different from a lot of different characters that people see. I did like that she does have the power to move things with her mind as well as this makes her unique and seeing how she discovers the power and how she uses it within the film to help save her teacher from her aunt and helps her in the end to be able to get away from the parents in which never cared about her and able to go with her teacher in which fully believed in her was really cool and sweet and showed how using your powers can come in useful and the different ways of being able to use them and how they came into being. Another thing I like about Matilda is that the headteacher is made to be scary as a child and as an adult and really makes you scared for the safety of the children in which she is looking after; throwing children like a hammer throw, throwing them into a dangerous cupboard called the chokey and also threatening them with a whip is ways of making the watcher dislike her more and really hope that she ends up with the misfortune she puts upon others. As she does run away at the end of the movie it does feel like the audience has had a victory and that the children in the film are a lot happier.

Personally however, the only thing in which I don't particularly like is the voice over that comes over the movie at certain times to inform the audience of what is happening as I feel like it distracts me and takes me away from the movie each time it does it. Otherwise I do think that this is a great family movie and one that will always be a part of my childhood, I would recommend this to families of all ages and those who like Rhold Dahl books as I feel that this is a great adaptation of the book.

My Rating: 4/5

Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k4F3Sn-Xzzo My Review: Wanting a style of film I don't usually watch but do enjoy I decided to watch the stalker movie that is My Teacher, My Obsession  which is based on an English teacher who starts at a new school. However, when one of the students gets obsessed with him she will do anything to be with him including secluding him from everyone else. I liked the foreshadowing at the beginning of the movie which matched up to the ending very well and shows how throughout the movie that this was coming up. I also liked how the film showed how the stude

Mysteries and Secrets of Magic - C.J.S. Thompson (book review)

Book: Mysteries and Secrets of Magic Author: C.J.S. Thompson Published By: Senate Published Year: 1927 My Review:  As this book is a non-fiction book about magic I did find this rather interesting to read however it seemed like this novel was more of a tester to see what kind of topic you would be most interested in with it only having short amounts on various topics such as: Supernatural Beings, Greek and Roman Magic, Magical Numbers, The Grimoires or Handbook of Black Magic, Magic in Shakespeare's Plays and many more. This did however teach me about magic that I didn't know about and now want to look more into as a result of this book and discover more about the magic of the past as well if there is any use of magic in the world now as we know it in 2018 almost 100 years after this book was first published. I would recommend this book to those who would like to know more about magic however don't know what they would like to learn as this will help you know what as

Jeepers Creepers 3 (film review)

Film : Jeepers Creepers 3 Year : 2017 Genre : Horror, Mystery, Thriller Starring : Stan Shaw, Gabrielle Haugh, Brandon Smith About : Sheriff Dan Tashtego and a team of creeper hunters enlist the help of officer Davis Tubbs to help stop the monster's eating spree. My Review:  Jeepers Creepers 3 is more of a transition film between the first and second film starting exactly where the first one ended and ending exactly as one of the boys go onto the school bus like in the second movie.  This film is more about Jeepers Creepers himself and showing how he is able to catch the people in which he is tracking down. As well as this you are able to see how a woman has a part of Jeepers Creepers that is able to look into his history and figure out the way of possibly destroying him. This did annoy me however as during this you see that two of the characters are able to see into his past but does not show the audience anything at all or really tell you anything about the past t
