My Review:
Having been an X-Men fan for most of my life I was excited to see that Dark Phoenix was coming out and decided to go to the cinema to see it on the first opportunity that I had. Although this is a decent watch this is nothing like what I expected it to be and it really let me down.

I thought that this movie was good in showing how Phoenix had dangerous powers and that Jean had no control over them which led to her hurting the ones that she loved. Realising this she did try to get help from anyone who she thought would be able to help her which I thought was nice to see as it still showed that Jean was in there but she didn't know how to stop. Not only this but I liked some of the action sequences within the movie which did bring more of an X-Men feel to the movie as well as kept the watcher wanting to know who would survive and who wouldn't.

However, this film did have a lot of faults with it as well. With the characters development not having been properly formed and left a lot of questions for the audience such as; how Hank is able to transition into the Beast and human form so easily before when he couldn't previously, what the powers Jean had as a child really were as the new formed Phoenix powers were from a spark in space as the movies had shown, who the aliens really were that came for the spark in which Jean had managed to get inside of her and many more. The only character in which seemed to have been formed properly and have left the audience with a better understanding of the character was Eric who the audience could see was happy now that mutants had freedom in which he had always wanted. Not only this but the characters didn't react the way that they should have and how the audience would expect certain characters to such as with Nightcrawler going on a killing spree the way that he did, this seemed worse when they didn't focus on his religious connection at all so the impact of this was just lost unless you knew more about his backstory. Dark Phoenix did come across as rushed to me and when trying to put so much into the movie just left out key parts of what makes a film really enjoyable which was disappointing as I did enjoy the other movies which had the current cast and think that they ended it on a film which no-one is able to connect to the characters within it making it difficult to grab the watchers attention.

Overall, I thought that this movie could have been done a lot better than it was however it wasn't a bad watch either. I would recommend this film to people who like X-Men butt don't really know the characters back stories and those who like action films as there was some good sequences throughout the film.

My Rating: 3/5

I Am Wrath (film review) *contains spoilers*

Film: I Am Wrath Year: 2016 Genre: Action, Crime, Drama Directed By: Chuck Russell Starring: John Travolta, Christopher Meloni, Amanda Schull About:  A man is out for justice after a group of corrupt police officers are unable to catch his wife's killer. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwiQCDpYzjE My Review: When my mum came home with this movie I had no idea what to expect as I had never heard of it before but liking a lot of movies with John Travolta I had high hopes that I would enjoy it. This film did surprise me a lot and something in which I enjoyed a lot more than I had expected. Starting I Am Wrath with Stanley's wife dying and how he went out for revenge made me think that this was somewhat based off of a John Wick movie, however as a fan of the trilogy this didn't bother me at all. Showing how the police and people higher up didn't care about who killed his wife and even let the killer go as he was part of a gang in which the police wer...

However, when one of the students gets obsessed with him she will do anything to be with him including secluding him from everyone else. I liked the foreshadowing at the beginning of the movie which matched up to the ending very well and shows how throughout the movie that this was coming up. I also liked how the film showed how...

Fred Claus (film review) *contains spoilers*

Film:  Fred Claus Year:  2007 Genre:  Comedy, Family, Fantasy Directed By:  David Dobkin Starring:  Vince Vaughn, Paul Giamatti, Elizabeth Banks About:  Fred Claus, Santa's bitter older brother, is forced to move to the North Pole to help Santa and the elves prepare for Christmas in exchange for cash. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VzXjtxZaGS8 My Review: Over the Christmas period I decided to watch some films that I hadn't previously seen before and one of those being  Fred Claus  I thought that this was different to other Christmas movies as it focus' on Santa's brother rather than on Santa himself but also on how to keep Christmas alive and not have it closed down. By having Vince Vaughn as the main character in this I had good expectations for this movie as I generally enjoy everything in which I have seen him in. I thought that  Fred Claus  was good in how it showed how Nicholas became a saint and how h...
