My Review:
Thinking it would be a good idea to watch a horror/comedy film I couldn't resist but put on Krampus which did make me laugh numerous times through it.

I do like that this film acknowledges Krampus as not many movies do even though he is a part of Christmas. I also liked that this film told you how it also happened to the gran when she was a child so could understand how Krampus was taking over Christmas. With the children's wish to make his family disappear Krampus did do as he was asked to do as Santa'a evil brother as known in some ways and shadow in others. This film did make me laugh which is something I did enjoy about this movie with the gingerbread men and toys trying to kill the family. By keeping the monster close to how he should look was something else in which I did like as it kept it more true to the myths of Krampus and how people know about him. By having the ending where the child also takes back his wish and ends up in a world in which is what he asked for however given a gift from Krampus to show how it wasn't real was something I thought was interesting and seemed more real. I thought that by giving the bell was a good touch as it showed the dark side of Santa.

I do wish that this movie showed why everyone in the neighbourhood died however and how Krampus knows which family to hunt. Not only this but I thought that the start was a little slow in order to get into with having to wait for the whole family to arrive and how they aren't happy for a while before Krampus arrives. Not only this but I thought that there should have been more of Krampus in the movie as he is not really shown and it is only his elves and toys in which are really the main villains within the film.

Overall, this film is a good comedy horror movie to watch at Christmas and shows the myth of Krampus rather well. I would recommend this film to those who are wanting something a little darker to watch at Christmas and those who like comedy/horror movies. I will be watching this movie again.

My Rating: 4/5

  1. I thoroughly enjoyed the film and in a way it reminded me of the 80's classic Gremlins. Excellent casting and fun set pieces. Even loved the bit with the rogue gnomes.

Film: My Teacher, My Obsession Year: 2018 Genre: Drama, Thriller Directed By: Damian Romay Starring: Lucy Loken, Laura Bilgeri, Rusty Joiner About:  Riley struggles to meet friends after transferring to a new high school where her father is an English teacher. When she meets Kyla, a fellow loner, they become close friends until Riley learns that Kyla is obsessed with her father. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k4F3Sn-Xzzo My Review: Wanting a style of film I don't usually watch but do enjoy I decided to watch the stalker movie that is My Teacher, My Obsession  which is based on an English teacher who starts at a new school. However, when one of the students gets obsessed with him she will do anything to be with him including secluding him from everyone else. I liked the foreshadowing at the beginning of the movie which matched up to the ending very well and shows how throughout the movie that this was coming up. I also liked how the film showed how the stude

I Am Wrath (film review) *contains spoilers*

Film: I Am Wrath Year: 2016 Genre: Action, Crime, Drama Directed By: Chuck Russell Starring: John Travolta, Christopher Meloni, Amanda Schull About:  A man is out for justice after a group of corrupt police officers are unable to catch his wife's killer. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwiQCDpYzjE My Review: When my mum came home with this movie I had no idea what to expect as I had never heard of it before but liking a lot of movies with John Travolta I had high hopes that I would enjoy it. This film did surprise me a lot and something in which I enjoyed a lot more than I had expected. Starting I Am Wrath with Stanley's wife dying and how he went out for revenge made me think that this was somewhat based off of a John Wick movie, however as a fan of the trilogy this didn't bother me at all. Showing how the police and people higher up didn't care about who killed his wife and even let the killer go as he was part of a gang in which the police wer

Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle (film review)

Film: Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle Year: 2017 Genre: Action, Adventure, Comedy Cast: Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, Kevin Hart, Jack Black About:  Four teenagers are sucked into a magical video game, and the only way they can escape is to work together to finish the game. My Review: As someone who grew up watching the Jumanji film with Robin Williams I was worried about the new film and if this would ruin the film that I grew up loving. I was gladly proven wrong! This film is based after Jumanji and is through a video game which is more with the times rather than board games, not only this but it is based around two people who are more nerds/geeks (one male and one female) and two of the popular group (one male and one female). As you see them coming to terms with their new characters and making it so that the popular ones are the more weak characters who aren't as popular and vice versa it made the film something for everyone. The casting for this film was amazing and hav
