My Review:
Having been contacted by Jude himself about this movie I was rather surprised but excited to review The Incantation which comes out in America later this month. Having only seen the trailer I was not sure what to expect but glad I gave this a watch.

The film is about a girl from America who moves to her families castle in France and is met by a vicar who tells her the rules of the household with three rules: no going upstairs, no uninvited guests and keeping decorum. As she stays however she starts getting nightmares about a young girl who she starts seeing throughout her days as well and after having found a book of dark magic starts to see more things that make her question where she is staying. With a love interest added in will all go her way or will the dark magic get to her.

I found that this movie was a great independent film and as the first film in which Jude S. Walko has written I thought that it was very well done and a film which deserves a lot of praise. I thought that the film was one that gave a lot of mystery till the very end and made me question what I had seen at the very end of the film which was not something that I was expecting but a great surprise. With the camera angles were also well shot and did keep me wanting more which was something I really liked especially as an independent movie.

I did find that some of the acting was a little just going through the actions for me but overall it was well acted and kept me watching. The main character kept losing her belongings however and this rather annoyed me as it seemed in every scene she was losing something and I just wanted to scream at her to start picking up her bag, phone and jacket. J.P the love interest didn't really seem to be all that into the girl from the acting and made me lose interest in him rather quickly but I am glad that he was relevant to the movie as a whole.

Overall, this was a great movie and for the debut of Jude S. Walko one that I am excited to see more of and how he grows as a writer as this movie was a great watch though minor annoyances to myself. I would highly recommend this movie to those who are fans of independent movies and horror films with a great twist at the end. This is a film I was privileged to review and I can't wait to see it again.

My Rating: 4/5

  1. The pub scene was rather awful especially the music and her not being drunk as much as she drank and then vomited which was way too much for being on a date.

    1. She did get left at the place however so could have been why she got more drunk than she should have been. Also people can handle different levels of alcohol so I see no problem with the amount she drank which made her sick.

Mysteries and Secrets of Magic - C.J.S. Thompson (book review)

Book: Mysteries and Secrets of Magic Author: C.J.S. Thompson Published By: Senate Published Year: 1927 My Review:  As this book is a non-fiction book about magic I did find this rather interesting to read however it seemed like this novel was more of a tester to see what kind of topic you would be most interested in with it only having short amounts on various topics such as: Supernatural Beings, Greek and Roman Magic, Magical Numbers, The Grimoires or Handbook of Black Magic, Magic in Shakespeare's Plays and many more. This did however teach me about magic that I didn't know about and now want to look more into as a result of this book and discover more about the magic of the past as well if there is any use of magic in the world now as we know it in 2018 almost 100 years after this book was first published. I would recommend this book to those who would like to know more about magic however don't know what they would like to learn as this will help you know what as

Jeepers Creepers 3 (film review)

Film : Jeepers Creepers 3 Year : 2017 Genre : Horror, Mystery, Thriller Starring : Stan Shaw, Gabrielle Haugh, Brandon Smith About : Sheriff Dan Tashtego and a team of creeper hunters enlist the help of officer Davis Tubbs to help stop the monster's eating spree. My Review:  Jeepers Creepers 3 is more of a transition film between the first and second film starting exactly where the first one ended and ending exactly as one of the boys go onto the school bus like in the second movie.  This film is more about Jeepers Creepers himself and showing how he is able to catch the people in which he is tracking down. As well as this you are able to see how a woman has a part of Jeepers Creepers that is able to look into his history and figure out the way of possibly destroying him. This did annoy me however as during this you see that two of the characters are able to see into his past but does not show the audience anything at all or really tell you anything about the past t
