My Review:
Having not seen V for Vendetta for years I could not resist watching this after so long especially after forgetting just how good the movie is and how it is definitely a film in which everyone should see at least once!

The film is about a man called V who wants to give England some hope by using what Guy Fawkes was famous for in 1605 in trying to blow up the houses of parliament. For this, he tells the public that  in one years time this will happen which lets the people of England get behind him and show that they are all needing the hope from V! As well as this happening V starts to get revenge on people who hurt him in the past while the police are trying to find out what happened as well as why V is killing them off one by one. Will the police find out what happened to V and stop him before the 5th of November?

I find that this film is unique and one that stays with you after having watched it which is a reason that this film is such a good watch. This film shows that even though it is in the future and a sci-fi movie there are people out there who are fighting for our hope as a country and showing that you don't have to live in fear which the government is wanting. Personally I like that in this movie you do find out about why V is going after those who have wronged him in the past and how this has effected why he is wanting to give England hope that is outwith the government and that the people need more than just a dictator. With the movie also showing a woman who is scared of everything we are able to see how her character develops from being scared and not feeling like she is safe being outside of her house after curfew to being not scared of anything, including death itself.

I would highly recommend this movie to those who are wanting a sci-fi movie that has a lot of action and will give you hope that things could get better. This is a film I feel everyone should see at least once and has a great story an gives a great understanding as to why the character is wanting vengeance as well as wanting to give hope to a whole country!

My Rating: 5/5

  1. Great film. Watching it every November 5th has become a tradition for me and a workmate. If I'm not working on the day, I'll read the graphic novel in the morning and watch the film at night.

V is such a great character, his fight scenes are good and his speeches are good. The film is brilliantly cast, it looks amazing and the set pieces are crafted well.

I am glad I did go into this blind however as I am not sure I would have seen it otherwise. The Beyond is about a black hole which appears just outside of Earth and how astronauts are going to try and find out what is on the other side and what would happen if this did happen in the next y...

Power About:  After inventing a drug that induces time-compressed virtual realities, young Ren grapples with partner Sam over how to use their powerful creation. Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qav2Z0TgYMA My Review: Seeing a film on Netflix that didn't sound familiar but was also sci-fi I had to give Otherlife a watch and this did surprise me however didn't leave me as satisfied as I hoped that it would. Otherlife is about a drug which creates a virtual reality however seems to be like real memories and a days worth of memories can be done very quickly. While trying to get funding Ren by accident ends up killing someone due to a glitch in the programme. As a result of this she gets put in an isolation in her own mind for a year due to the government wanting to use it on prisoners which is only an hour in the real world. ...

However, when one of the students gets obsessed with him she will do anything to be with him including secluding him from everyone else.
