Black Panther (film review)

Film: Black Panther
Year: 2018
Genre: Action, Adventure, Sci-fi
Starring: Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong'o
About: T'Challa, the King of Wakanda, rises to the throne in the isolated, technologically advanced African nation, but his claim is challenged by a vengeful outsider who was a childhood victim of T'Challa's father's mistake

My Review:
As a lover of Marvel comics and superhero films this really excited me having Black Panther finally as a hero which will be recognised by everyone as one of their own and joining the Avengers. With a lot of hype about this film as well I wanted to see if it lived up to it and why this was being called the first of it's kind for a black superhero movie when there is previous black hero's.

As this film follows T'Challa gets to become king of Wakanda you see the struggle in which he is having letting go of his father and not really understanding how to run his country. As well as this you are seeing a group of people who are willing to lose everything for his country by selling technology on which hasn't been seen by the people outwith Wakanda. As this develops you realise that one of those people are T'Challa's cousin and he tries his best to sort out the problems in which this has made for his ruling and becoming the Black Panther.

I think this film is very unique and a film I am glad is getting a lot of praise and getting a lot of publicity, not just as a Marvel movie but also as a superhero film on it's own account. As this is a film that only has two white characters within it and aren't made out to be the make and break of the film, although are key characters. With a lot of films also making everything about white people or making it so they are key it is amazing to see that finally black people have something that is for them and takes into account their history as well. As well as this the film seems to celebrate Africa as a country and doesn't change it into something it isn't and stays true to the tribes which there are making this film even better in my eyes. Making this the first black superhero movie of it's kind and I really hope that this is the first of many.

As well  as this the film is really good as a Marvel movie with the likes of car chases, the advances technology, humor, action and even some romance making this the film in which all Marvel fans were wanting. With the humor not being forced and making sense with the story as well as making the audience on the edge of their seats.

I highly recommend giving this film a watch wither you are a Marvel fan or not as this is so much more than just a Marvel film and is more a celebration of the African culture. I also can't wait till Black Panther is back again in Avengers: Infinity War later on this year! Also remember to stay around till the very end of the credits for the extra scene!

I honestly can't fault this film at all as it really does have everything that a film needs and wants from a Marvel film as well as standing alone perfectly by itself and not needing to know anything about the Marvel universe before this.

My Rating: 5/5

Mysteries and Secrets of Magic - C.J.S. Thompson (book review)

Book: Mysteries and Secrets of Magic Author: C.J.S. Thompson Published By: Senate Published Year: 1927 My Review:  As this book is a non-fiction book about magic I did find this rather interesting to read however it seemed like this novel was more of a tester to see what kind of topic you would be most interested in with it only having short amounts on various topics such as: Supernatural Beings, Greek and Roman Magic, Magical Numbers, The Grimoires or Handbook of Black Magic, Magic in Shakespeare's Plays and many more. This did however teach me about magic that I didn't know about and now want to look more into as a result of this book and discover more about the magic of the past as well if there is any use of magic in the world now as we know it in 2018 almost 100 years after this book was first published. I would recommend this book to those who would like to know more about magic however don't know what they would like to learn as this will help you know what as

Jeepers Creepers 3 (film review)

Film : Jeepers Creepers 3 Year : 2017 Genre : Horror, Mystery, Thriller Starring : Stan Shaw, Gabrielle Haugh, Brandon Smith About : Sheriff Dan Tashtego and a team of creeper hunters enlist the help of officer Davis Tubbs to help stop the monster's eating spree. My Review:  Jeepers Creepers 3 is more of a transition film between the first and second film starting exactly where the first one ended and ending exactly as one of the boys go onto the school bus like in the second movie.  This film is more about Jeepers Creepers himself and showing how he is able to catch the people in which he is tracking down. As well as this you are able to see how a woman has a part of Jeepers Creepers that is able to look into his history and figure out the way of possibly destroying him. This did annoy me however as during this you see that two of the characters are able to see into his past but does not show the audience anything at all or really tell you anything about the past t
